I haven't heard that before.
I know Columbus has been called just about everything.
He might have been just what history records him as. It's been a while since I read "Christ the King, Lord of History" which gives you history with a Catholic perspective. I'd have to see what Catholic historians say about Columbus.
They wouldn't be shy about calling him a Jєω, if he was one. After all, there was no "anti-Semitism" and no ACLU before 1950 or so.
