  •   A prot man whom I used to see in the church, told me that he is willing to ba#pt##ize me in his house. He told me to take a bus for going there.( his house is in another tawn in our province) it is a one hour passange I think. This man is married. He is a convert himself, while his wife and two of his children are not christians. I know that I must go to his house alone if I should go. He told me that he will invite some other prots to come and pray for me there.
      Now some questions:
1-it is surely a private baptism which is illicit unless one is in the case of necessity. Do you think I am in the case of necessity?
2-even if I agree to do that, there will be no mass and no confession for a very long time. Is it safe?

  •   Yes I am somehow afraid. there had been even some fake priests here. Who made appointments with christians just to murder or report them. But people say that this man is a convert from 30 years ago. I don't really know, I am afraid of going to the house of an stranger in another town.

  • Why would you go to a Protestant to get baptized. You said there are Catholic churches where you live. Go to a Catholic priest. You should only go to a Protestant if you are in immediated danger of death and there is no priest around.

  • Anyway, there is no need to go to his house because baptism only takes a few seconds and can be done anywhere. It is a danger to go to a strangers house. He could be a rapist or a killer. But like I said, you must go to a Catholic priest if you are not in any danger of death and if a priest is available.

Anyway... I should wait. Perhaps God wants me to baptized at 30, like Jesus?!

  • Did you ask only one priest? Are there any others can ask (even if it means driving 1 hour or 2 to get to him). When my family and I were living in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, there was a priest who would disguise himself in regular clothes and secretly visit houses of Catholics to give them Holy Communion and Confession. It would have been the death penalty for him if he had gotten caught. There are always some priests who are not afraid to die in order to win souls for Christ or to take care of His sheep.

  • If you were my niece, I would beg you to wait.  The risks are

too high, especially for a Protestant.

  • I would not wait. How do you know this man? I would be afraid of going to a strange man's home anywhere, anytime. I need to know more of how you know this man, and if he is a friend or not.

  • Oh, I see. I was just wondering, I did not mean any offense.

I think that you should pray about it and find out more about him. If you do decide to go, try to convert him to the Catholic Faith.

  •   I used to see in the churches. By churches I mean he goes to every christian building. Once I told him not to do that. He just answered that the only thing important is Jesus, and that he will go to any place where people call upon Jesus.
I spoke much to him. He says that he loves the virgin Mary and for her sake loves the catholic church. But still he is too much sure about god's grace. "we are under the grace" , "only Jesus matters" and such like words are his answers to me.

  • If those are the only answers that he can give you then I say DONT trust him. I think if he were a real protestant he wouldnt have a love for the Blessed Virgin since to them she is just another woman. I bet he's a spy. Protestants dont go from church to church like you just described. Id say wait and pray about it and ask Jesus to provide one of His priests to baptize you. Say a 54-day Rosary Novena and see what happens.

  • It depends. We have to be as gentle as doves, but also as  wise as serpents. I agree, pray a 54 day novena first.
