The pro-life movement's tactics of having marches to raise awareness of their political clout (ie, the ability to make politicians say they're against abortion, while not actually doing much of anything about it) are ignored by the media. And why is that? Who controls the media in this country? Who are the people most responsible for insisting on legal abortion in this country?
Political change requires real political action, not gestures without substance.
To be a "mainstream" pro-lifer is to resign yourself to repeating the same 40 year old slogans, using the same old signs and pictures, and worst of all, to resign yourself to knowing that you will never really win, even in the most rural states they cannot win referenda.
Genuine opposition to legal abortion requires and actual willingness to hold women accountable for their actions. A willingness to use judicial violence.
Now when I hear a lady like Colleen Hammond relate that several high school girls came up to her and confessed having abortions - and the way she related it - whether Mrs. Hammond realizes it or not, the attitude she is expressing is not the attitude one expresses towards an infanticide. Can we really believe that abortion will ever be punished in this country? Prolifers are almost as badly manipulated as die-hard "conervative" Novus Ordo Catholics.
