  • Would it be sinful to use the word "holy" in vain?  For example, I hear people say things like "holy cow" or "holy guacamole" to express feelings of shock.  It would obviously be sinful when coupled with a curse word, but what about when it isn't?

  • What I don't like is the use of the word "holy" as in "Holy Father" for the pope, and "Holy Land" for Israel.
