*What percentage are practicing "Catholics" or just Catholic in name only, is hard to tell?

Perhaps most did still receive, if not complete, but valid baptisms.

An argument could be made that it's easier, better, safer, etc. to live amongst neo-Pagans, protestants, etc. than to live in a milieu of NOVUS ORDO Catholics.

At least among Pagans you can be the strong Catholic. The Novus Ordo can be more damaging to one's Faith, actually.

It's the same reason you should send your kids to anything but a Conciliar Catholic school.
(That having been said, I must point out that public school has reached a fever pitch of evil, and is not an option for any serious Catholics.)

Or think of the clot shot. Among pagans, you could say, "It's against my religion" and they'd leave you alone and/or trust you on that. But among Novus Ordo they'd call you out: "Oh yeah? I'm Catholic and this-and-that Catholic hierarchy says it's ok!"
