Urgent help needed for Sister Mary Savio of the Sisters of St Thomas Aquinas

Earlier in the year, Sister Mary Savio of the Sisters of St Thomas Aquinas underwent really serious brain surgery to deal with Intercranial Hypertension – “a condition involving excess fluid and pressure around the brain.”

The surgery was a success, but now she must undergo further operations – tomorrow (Friday 25 September 2026).
Sister Mary Savio’s parents have set up a GoFundMe fundraiser for this operation and aftercare – which, because they are not covered by insurance, will cost a cool $92,000.

So, initially I had been a little skeptical about ... why don't they have insurance?  It's well known that they have some pretty significant benefactors.  But upon reading the link I find that she needed some surgery that could only be performed by some specialists in Germany, and that insurance didn't cover it.  I think that's important to call out here, because if the Sisters didn't have health insurance due to their being cheap, then one needs to begin asking whether or not they can afford to have the Sisters there at all.

Yes, these followon operations ... are they also not covered by insurance ... and do they also need to be done in Germany?  Those other ones sound more routine.
