I managed it, but I was used to being the weird kid who didn’t fit in and who didn’t really care.  As an adult, I’ve not changed. For some professions, a university degree is necessary, unless you believe Catholics, like Amish, the Mormons, and JW’s should limit themselves ton blue collar and poorly paid manual labor?
The original universities were all Catholic.
Should we not reclaim our status as leaders of intellect and applied knowledge?

I do, absolutely! However I have recently been pondering alternative solutions to the systemic crisis in modern education. Maybe it is more useful to work around the liberal system, and put the preponderance of our efforts into creating intermediary institutions such as farms, schools, guilds, credit unions instead? I think working through the system has been tried and has ultimately failed. Maybe working round the system will eventually engulf it? Not so sure, but was just a thought and I am open to other possibilities.

I wanted to create a Catholic farm: produce raw milk, meat, fruit etc
You will also find the same modern world affecting that type of business. I know a man who has a farm and a store where he sells the products of his farm plus other groceries, he is not Catholic but certainly has been a charitable man specially during the scamdemic in 2020 and it would be nice to become Catholic. For example, if you had no money because you lost your job during that time, he was willing to give you the food from his storefront without paying, just promise that you will try to pay it back when the times get better. I hope nobody abused that rare expression of generosity and trust in his customers. He sells raw milk but by request only and only to those he has known as customers. If a complete stranger asks for raw milk, he will get a no for an answer (I did until I established myself as a regular customer). Some people think selling raw milk is irresponsible, risky at best, just like not vaccinating your animals with a bunch of stuff. Just look into any regulations that may come into place to see if that is something you are willing to put up with.

That is exactly what I saw! Common sense really. The money making men have slid their way into the education system. Maybe it is time we started working round these liberal institutions?
Yes! One has to be extremely careful with liberalism/modernism.

One may see a parallel with the Popes that took a more lax vs. strict approach when dealing with modernists.

Pope St. Pius X, familiar with the various hardships of life having grown up dirt poor, strong in the Faith as a lion yet meek as a lamb, understood that modernists have to be expelled in order to be overcome. One does not "work with" modernists. Likewise, liberalism has to be despised and utterly rejected, not reasoned with whatsoever.

The papacies after Pope St. Pius X (Benedict XV, Pius XI, Pius XII) were unfortunately working under the delusion that one may find common ground with and tolerate modernists, and that is why we ended up with Vatican II. The Bishops at the Council were appointed by Pius XII.

Those weaker Popes thought merely issuing the occasional encyclical would be enough to stop the modernism. Many traditional Catholics inadvertently imitate this soft approach, not realizing that the reason why we are in this crisis is precisely due to this softness; being NICTH as Bishop Williamson would say.

University is a bad idea. There is so much Catholic doctrine going against it in itself. Men need to be lead to a job by God how He leads woman to a man. The courses are so simple a five year old could complete them, or they're overly convoluted how only a 120 IQ professor could do. Fake "smart" speak plagues the walls of these universities. Leaves you in debt aswell. The good part is the commissary, I am complementary snack bars and coffee. That's about it.

In my state, if you go for a teaching degree, you can fail and still receive your teaching license. What a joke. Palm beach pete is getting your money. I imagine it's not much different across the world either.
