Are they taking workers' shirts off to see if they wear a Cross?

If not, how do they know that they are wearing one?

Christians should not advertise their religion with material signs of faith.

Better to live by Christian principles in one's daily life.

Wear a scapular, don't show it off.

Thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.

So you don't think Catholics should show that they're not ashamed of their Faith, huh?

Sorry, but that is not a Catholic mindset. According to your logic, the Apostles were basically "showing off" their Faith instead of keeping their Faith "in secret". As if the latter would be the right thing to do.

  • Nylndech, are you Catholic?

    Quote from: Nylndech
The issue appears to be an unnecessary display of a religious symbol

How shocking!   And we've just celebrated the feast of Pentecost. You remember.. that's when Peter got out and started showing off in front of all those folk from Mesopotamia, Phrygia, Judea, etc etc etc.

    Quote from: Nylndech
I would also expect to not see religious symbols on the walls of a nondenominational hospital.

You wouldn't approve of the Italian custom of leaving the Crucifixes up on the walls in state hospitals (which belonged at one time to the Church)?

    Quote from: Nylndech

Issue here is that someone just wants to show off how holy holy she is.

Not someone, TWO women who were named in the article. Does it embarrass you to see the Cross, even worse for you to see the Crucifix displayed. There is a serious problem here.

    Quote from: Nylndech
Easy to wear scapulars and Crucifixes without anyone seeing.

It would have been easier on Jesus not to have died on the Cross.

    Quote from: Nylndech
Call me when Catholic institutions are forced to remove Catholic pictures and symbols.

By the sound of it you'd run with your tail between your legs.

  • The response I have received here is very familiar

Received much the same self-righteous holy holy bluster before

Pro-abortion Catholics also get very sanctimonious when you tell them abortion is bad

  • Which brings me back to my first question; are you Catholic? because you seem to have a problem with any sign of holiness.

Answer questions, don't just ask them.

NyIndech should respond, not just inquire.

    Me thinks troll at work.

  • Preaching Christ and Him crucified will always be offensive to a sinful and fallen world. So it was for the Apostles - so it must be for us. This kind of event shows that secularism's claim to be "neutral" is laughable. He is blind who is "neutral" between light and darkness, and so too he who is indifferent between truth and error shows himself to be in error. When Christians say, incorrectly, that government must treat all religions the same, they concede already the erroneous principle that government is to be the supreme arbiter in disputes concerning religion, that government must decide what is to be tolerated and what is not. What we must say is that government is bound to serve Christ the King.

  • The ideal form of government would be a benevolent, traditional Catholic constitutional monarchy.

I actually came up with the framework of the constitution for such a government some time ago.  It included religious freedom with Catholic primacy, and it outright forbade same-sex "marriage" and unnecessary abortion.

Darn. You beat me to it.

What about unnecessary ѕυιcιdє, or unnecessary prostitution?

Unnecessary substance abuse, or unnecessary contraception?

    NyIndech thinks some abortions necessary?

    Can't have unnecessary without necessary.

Yeah I know it's redundant.  Even trads make mistakes; imagine that.

Pretty rotten place where the Uh-Oh Squad shows up every time they think someone finally did something to reveal that they are a Communist Jew Mason nαzι Satanist.
