  • I’m not making a mountain out of anything. I’ve stated my opinion, and commented back when people reply. You’re the one whose getting worked up... if you don’t like what I have to say ignore it. But I would say that would silly given the reason of a discussion board is to discuss opinions, and such. That’s all I’ve done. If it upsets you what I said then maybe you need to think about why. Because if what you are saying is true then why are you so bothered by what I said?

  • You are free to continue the debate and I'm not trying to silence you.  I'm trying to explain to you that your sentimental reactions (i.e. our "uncharitable comments" and our "judging people on appearances") are silly and ignore the physiological effects one's emotions has on the attractiveness of their facial expressions.

  • Oh my gosh you did not just use snowflake...
I’m not being overly sensitive. Emotions are not apart of this. What I am saying is using words, and terms that are derogatory against someone’s looks ,ANYONES looks, is not good Catholic behavior. God calls us to speak with kindness when correcting sins, or misinformation. So, once you start attacking someone’s looks you’ve already lost the battle because no truth you say will be heard after saying hurtful things. I wouldn’t say that they look the most happy, but saying they are ugly is going to far. I’m also not saying they don’t look bitter, or angry. I’m saying that saying things like “ugly”  is not kind at all. We answer to God for everything we say, and I think it goes without saying He doesn’t approve of mean speech in anything from anyone.

I didn't mean to upvote this. Just to quote it.

    You read positively hysterical.

    And defensive.

You think "de fide"? Surely this must confound you:

    Quote
But to Cain and his offerings he had no respect: and Cain was exceedingly angry, and his countenance fell. And the Lord said to him: Why art thou angry? and why is thy countenance fallen?

God gave us our senses for a reason. Also, assuming the best intentions (Catholics simply observing as Our Father observes) might help you understand the Catholic concept of discerning. Those women may or may not have been photographed at an unfortunate time, but God gave us many gifts and yes, we're supposed to use them.

  • Sorry, but physiognomy is real. External facial features and contortions of the body do reflect a lot about a person's inner disposition.

One can deny reality as much as one chooses to, but keep in mind that once you deny reality, it will automatically work against you.
Blessed Margaret of Castello was born blind, lame, deformed, hunchbacked and a dwarf. She was so ugly her parents were ashamed of her and actually abandoned her.

    So?

No one here is saying that the ugly can't make it to Heaven. As a matter of fact, the degree of physical beauty of our glorified bodies in Heaven will be in proportion to the beauty of our souls here on earth. (Here is a strong motivator for me!!!).

Also, we are not talking about a person who is born with deformities. That person is obviously free of any fault for his unfortunate condition during his earthly pilgrimage, which really, is very short, compared to eternity. On the other hand, there is a lot these ugly feminists could potentially do in order not to appear so repulsive and as an act of charity towards their neighbor...

but they won't because it takes effort.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • There are many POTENTIALLY beautiful feminists, but the hatred and evil in their souls manifests on their faces, causing them to be ugly.

And for most women  ;) .

Women who lose their souls give up the chance for eternal beauty in pursuit of a very temporary beauty.  How sad it is to see 75-year-old women desperately trying to cling to their fading earthly beauty to the neglect of their eternal beauty.

Ultimately it reduces to a lack of faith.  People are too stupid to even seek their own good.  If someone told me I could work for 15 minutes and then be rich for the rest of my life, I would be an idiot to pass on that offer.  God tells us that we can suffer and give up what we want for what, compared to eternity, is the blink of an eye ... in order to receive eternal happiness and beauty.
