Unrelated to this particular case but related to loitering in general: I think it's perfectly reasonable for a coffee shop, restaurant, etc. to ask customers to leave if they either (a) haven't bought anything, or (b) are staying excessive lengths of time after finishing their meal/coffee(especially if it's busy), or (c) they're causing a disturbance(as these gangster types usually do, speaking extremely loud with curses every few words).
And I think in the past most people would've agreed with me on that, and yet recently there's been huge uproar over people being kicked out for loitering that Starbucks are allowing anyone to use their spaces without needing to purchase anything, so effectively approving loitering. People can now walk into Starbucks and stay there all day long without buying a thing, all because of some screeching on Twitter. It's a horrible business decision that will lead to overcrowding and unpleasant experiences for their actual customers, and I wouldn't be surprised if they go bankrupt down the line because of it.
