The leftist concept of "love" is a strange one. To them "love" means doing whatever doesn't make people cry. Having borders makes illegal immigrants sad, so they want open borders. Fornicating women having to deal with the consequences of their actions and raise their kid makes them sad, so leftists support abortion. They don't care about how this affects the unborn child since they don't have to see them - leftists are solipsists, if they can't see it it's not real. This is very apparent when pro-life campaigners put up posters of the murdered babies before the Irish Referendum. Leftists complained this was upsetting and wanted to ban the posters, yet they couldn't connect the dots and see that it wasn't the posters causing the gore but the abortions. It's only seeing the gore that makes it seem real to them, they're happily willing to ignore infanticide if they don't have to see it and if the media tells them it's ok.
Love of course has nothing to do with blind tolerance and capitulation to make people feel better. Often times, to be loving requires you to make others "feel bad", the biggest fear of the leftist(unless the people they're making feel bad are white men, ofc). If your child misbehaves, it's not loving to avoid punishing them because it might upset them. A loving parent will want their children to grow and learn, which they can't do without screwing up and facing the consequences. It's similar with the Church. Telling sodomites they'll go to Hell if they don't repent and change their ways is not an act of hate, it's an act of love. It's tough love, telling them what they need to hear to save their souls. Telling a sodomite he's ok the way he is is not loving at all, it's a lie designed to make yourself look good and tolerant, that will end up harming them in the long-term(when they're damned). It's as the Russians say, "It is better to be slapped by the truth than kissed by a lie."
That's what the true Christian ethic of love is about. Telling people what they need to hear, even if it upsets them, for the sake of their souls. Tolerance is not love, tolerance is just apathy mixed with trying to look good to one's worldly peers.
