  • Anyone know of any good traditional retreats that focus on fasting and penance.

I was looking for something you might want to send a smart phone addicted teenager to. The teenager being in his late twenties early thirties.

  • I haven't heard of any that focus on fasting and penance, although a person is welcome to do penance while on retreat. The silence in itself is a good penance.

Darn, wish this question had been asked a few months ago. We just had one up here, from a priest that works with Fr. Amorth. Father here had arranged his visit months in advance, and my brother (23) just went on this retreat himself. This priest is now his spiritual adviser, and I've already seen a tremendous improvement. Hope it sticks.

    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

My Avatar is Fr. Hector Bolduc. He was a faithful parish priest in De Pere, WI,

  • I've seen retreats advertized at the chapel but I haven't been on one so I can't say what's it's like.  Here is a link to a description:retreats
