I received a question today, along the lines of:
"Should I purchase a ____ from a company that is pro-abort or pro-ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ?"
Here is my response:
I've spoken about this on CI in the past --
If you want to purchase from a Traditional Catholic _______ manufacturer, then by all means go ahead.
But if you can't find such a thing, you might have to settle.
I can say this: Catholics aren't required to live in the woods, or in the wilderness like mountain men, etc. because every modern convenience and product is manufactured by infidels, pro-liberal, pro-gαy, pro-abort, pro-democrat, and/or they manufacture things overseas in Communist China where they do forced abortions, etc.
According to Catholic moral theology, it is licit to purchase products from mega corporations with bad politics/agendas, especially when there are no alternatives.
It's not like you have two wooden carts in a market: one owned by a pro-abort, and one by a trad Catholic. Of course in such a case you are obligated to support the latter!
Nowadays almost everything is dominated by 1 or 2 mega corporations, and virtually all those corporations are evil in some way.
I, for one, have given up trying. I buy whatever is cheapest and/or whatever my family needs. It's sad, but it's reality. You do what you can -- which, for most of us and for the most part, is very little.
We do try to buy as little as possible -- that helps slow the march of the machine a little bit. Buying used is one way out. We do that a lot.
