I like your menu, Dawn, but I don't think my family would touch anything but the pasta.
I tend to lean toward following the "spirit of the law" and not stress about if I'm meeting the "letter of the law".
For example, I could toss "bacon pieces" on my salad any day of the week as there isn't a bit of actual meat in them, but I don't as it wouldn't really be in the spirit of abstinence. I guess something like a tofu burger would be the same for me.
On the other hand, I generally have no idea what goes into the food I buy at the grocery store. For example, I
think traditionally tortillas are made with animal fat, but I'd imagine most of them are not and don't pick up every package I use on abistenance days to verify there's no animal contents.
I think if I made a pie and knew very well that I used lard in the crust, I'd probably wait until Saturday to have another piece. :ready-to-eat:
