  • 1. Men who do not drink alcoholic beverages. Especially by peers in the military or law enforcement. These men cannot be trusted. they are the most likely to be snitches.

    2. Men who do not like sports. Generally, they suffer from inferiority complexes. That means they lack emotional stability and lack self-esteem.

    3. gαy men. Enough said.

I think watching sports is a waste of time but I could probably drink your ass under the table.

  • The older I get the less I want to drink.  Maybe a beer or 2 a week.

  • While your reasoning seems heavily testosterone driven and my gut agrees with you more or less.  A better yard stick for manliness is someone that would fight either physically or verbally for truth or justice.  A face to face fight not virtual.  And that kind of courage is rare.  I'm still trying to improve in this myself.  Let us pray to St Joseph today for the art of manliness.

I try not to drink anymore because I like it a bit too much. When I was in the Army, I could drink a 1/5th no problem or put down about 18 beers in a day. I would spread it out over a good amount of time though. And yes I was drunk. Those were some very unhappy times. The guy 2 doors down from me was about 41 or 42 years old...he was telling me one day about how he was struggling with being an alcoholic. Not to much longer after that, I asked him what he was going to be doing during the weekend. He said he would be doing what he always does. That would be to get some liquor and play Everquest. So I decided to ask him if he wanted me to come over and have a few drinks with him. So I did. I remember trying to keep up with him, and I think I stopped before we had even gotten half way through the gallon of tequila he had. I didn't even remember going back to my room that night, but I woke up the next morning and went over to his room immediately. I remember my head throbbing and balance wasn't the greatest. I knocked on his door to see how he was doing. He answered, and seemed wide awake without a hangover or anything. As if he hadn't even been drinking the night before. Then I looked at the gallon of tequila he bought and it was completely gone. I couldn't believe that he was able to drink so much. I imagine he had over 2 fifths of tequila that night. I could never drink that much.

What if their peers are all tea-totaling, sodomite fine jack dandys?

Think they all trust each other?

    I agree that #3 is a given.

I largely agree about #1--it's usually heretical prots or snitches not drinking.  I hadn't thought about the military/LE angle before.  But I agree and can think of examples of at least one snitch for that one.

The types who you see #2 applying to--I agree that they're not to be trusted.  But believe it or not, there's a lot of good men who simply could care less about sports, and to them it is a waste of time.  I love sports--but I haven't had time to keep up with MLB since I got out of college.  I did follow college baseball a little closer this year.  College football & basketball are about the only sports I prioritize these days (I just simply make time for that).  So I get why some men think it's a waste of time.

    -------
As to #1, I've thought of more experiences in the time I've been writing this.  Your point rings very true with regard to that.

    This just plain silly.

  • Protocol 13, part 3
In order that the masses themselves may not guess what they are about WE FURTHER DISTRACT THEM WITH AMUSEMENTS, GAMES, PASTIMES, PASSIONS, PEOPLE'S PALACES .... SOON WE SHALL BEGIN THROUGH THE PRESS TO PROPOSE COMPETITIONS IN ART, IN SPORT IN ALL KINDS: these interests will finally distract their minds from questions in which we should find ourselves compelled to oppose them.

  • Do you include St John the Baptist in no. 1, Crossbro? Is there no end to your stupidity?

Any man who has a drinking problem (I don't include St JB in that) proves himself to be manly and trustworthy by not touching the stuff.

I had a wonderful uncle who "took the pledge" as a young man and I loved him dearly. He was a real man, thoroughly trustworthy, generous, sincere.

I can't believe how little sense has been slapped into this thread.

I think you're the first, Sigismund!

There is *absolutely nothing* wrong with men who don't like sports.
    I hate sports.

You tell me why a man has to waste his time playing in a field like a boy. I get outside plenty, but it's to do actual work and projects on my land. And I certainly wouldn't waste any time watching others play anything.

There's nothing wrong with more "thinking" types, who tend to be more intelligent, feel pain more keenly, and hence don't enjoy knocking around on the football field.

God made all types, and there's nothing wrong with that. Someone has to drive taxis, and someone has to design the engine that propels the taxi. The former is more likely to be into sports than the latter.

So we're all supposed to be couch potatoes, with the TV permanently set to ESPN with a beer in one hand and a remote in the other? Can you say Hollywood stereotype of a man? Turn off the TV already, my good man!

And anything other than that is placed the same category as being ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ? Ridiculous.

Actually there is a lot wrong with men who hate sports. I don't mean watching sports, but playing sports. An emphasis on the intellectual and not the physical is exactly why we have so many useless intellectual welfare queens crawling around think tanks and universities with their self-righteousness. The whole man can both show intellectual courage, common sense, love of country, and a sound body.

Sports teaches the greatness of teamwork, cooperation, and physical health. This post reminds me of a sickness I call intellectualism. It puts all the efforts on intellectual knowledge and none on having a good, strong body on both the woman and the man. Now I myself am definitely not stupid, but I also grew up with the greatness of sports, manly strength, and military combat being the ideal of a man.

A real man shows no emotion and is stoic about pain. In wartime we don't need individuals who whine and complain about their condition or their feelings being hurt.

The latter is also more likely to be an atheist.

I obviously don't support that ideal however it seems to me Hollywood these days supports the eroticism of intellectualism, with shows such as Big Bang Theory which makes nerds to be the ideal man.

Well obviously I don't support a man being a drunkard but yes there is definitely an effeminancy amongst men these days. That is why you're more effeminate priests turned out to be pedophiles and *gasp* ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs too.
