It is a pleasure, Thorn.

We always have to be exceptionally careful of what we read.

We all try to avoid the occasions of sin.

So the devil is very subtle.

We can lose our souls through reading bad books. Even bad religious books.

Bad religious books are probably one of the most harmful influences on a Catholic's immortal Soul.

Be very careful not to fall into any Heresies through reading bad religious books.

I just joined this group in order to find out more about the Catholic Book Club.  How is it going and what book are you now reading?  Do you let members know just what book is going to be read ahead of time in order to let members have a chance to find and/or purchase the book?

Truth be told, the attempt at a book club wasn't very successful, and I doubt it ever will be. I mean, we couldn't even decide on a book to read, let alone when and how often to meet to discuss it. Personally, I was all for reading The Little Flowers of St. Francis. I thought that that would be a good starting book. It's a fairly light read, and can be read a little bit at a time, so it's good even for those who don't have a lot of time to read. However, I think I'm just going to go ahead and read it by myself, since I don't see this book club getting off the ground.

Book clubs are hard to start, it's quite true!
