I've noticed that a lot of Catholics use the word "gαy" when refering to ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs. I personally think that we should not use it because the word was hijacked by the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs and their agenda.

The word gαy means happy and it was hijacked to make the general population believe that a life of sin and depravity is normal and brings happiness.

Notice also that they cleverly selected a single syllable word for people use so that it roles of the tongue so easily when refering to ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs.
A clever trap and easy habit to fall into!

Lets not go along with this agenda and use the correct wording when referring to ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs.

The correct word is ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ or sodomite!

The word ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ is itself a neologism, having been invented in the 1892 edition of Psychopathia sɛҳuąƖis. Look into it. I think only sodomy and its cognates should be used, as they retain the full weight of the stigma.

I second Jitpring. Now that I think about it, ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ is a politically correct term.

If someone comes up to you and says "Do you believe in gαy marriage?" or "Do you believe in same-sex adoption?" imagine how that would sound if you inserted the word sodomite. "Do you believe in sodomite marriage?" "Do you believe sodomites should adopt?" Makes it sound as shockingly ugly as it really is.

Yes now that I think of it, you are probably correct. Its simply a slow and gradual process as per usual.

1. Sodomite. Thats just a nasty way to refer to someone.
2. ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ. Well thats a little more politically correct and not as nasty.
3. gαy. Thats a nice word. Now we're cooking with gas!
4. Same-sex. Well thats just the scientific term for a "completely natural occurance".

Exactly. Notice that same-sex can be seen as a kind of translation of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ, but of an even more morally neutral quality. That's the key with all these terms other than sodomite. They're about neutralizing the moral disapprobation attached to sodomy, and even turning it into something positive, or "gαy."

The problem is that once you use the word sodomite, your worldling listener/reader will immediately brand you as a religious fanatic and thus dismiss everything you say. So, practically speaking, I actually do use the word ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ when dealing with worldlings - as it's retained at least some of the stigma. But I never call sodomites gαy or attach same-sex to anything.
