Get a real copy. An old copy. There's just something about having a real, old book, rather than reading from an archive scan pdf on your phone like a modern kid.

The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ by St. Alphonsus Liguori. There's literally 500 pages (sides) of paper, but you really only need to read the first 15 or so over and over. The rest is extra. Hang out in the chapel after Mass, forget the donuts, or get their early, and slowly and diligently meditate on each sentence in presence of the One Who loves you most.

I got my copy from a lot that were going to be thrown in the trash. A holy priest decided to try to save them and give them away.

I'll admit the thickness of the book is very intimidating for me, but I've realized how I find it sufficient to return to the first few pages.
