The Inquisitors - Pride, or Thinking you Know It All
« on: January 18, 2026, 07:40:35 PM »

The Inquisitors discuss more modern insanity today, including the common pattern of people thinking they are the only smart person in the room. "I am smart, and everyone else is stupid." What causes people to quickly and calmly accept this "reality"? Pride.

Meh ... it's ironic that you look down from your perch of judgment on everyone else thinking YOU're the smartest one in the room in having identified all the other people who think they're the smartest.

Honestly, this is stupid.  Generally when people think they're right, it's ... becaues they think they're right.  Sometimes they ARE right.  Sometimes they aren't right, and they cling to their opinion anyway because there's some emotional attachment to their opinion.  But rarely is it JUST BECAUSE they want to be the smartest person.  They just want to be right about this, that, or another issue.

This topic is a fail.

Seems like the video is due to the other thread of weight loss.

No, it's not a fail.

Have you not seen, in your long years, co-workers or other random people who are quick to dismiss various others as "stupid" or "idiots" just because they don't agree with their position on something? It's a frame of mind -- a willingness to believe others are beneath them. A very PROMPT willingness to believe they are better than others. It's a habitus or perpetual state -- in this case, it's the negative habit (or vice) of pride. Most humble, well-adjusted men are more inclined to consider each case objectively, and reserve judgment until they look into an issue (say, "radio frequency pollution/health effects") rather than an immediate dismissal.

They might conclude the individual isn't considering something, that he is only 80% right, etc. -- but the idea of jumping right to "what a stupid idiot!" as the FIRST MOVE or DEFAULT MOVE really shows how proud a person is.

As a matter of fact, you have complained about this very thing in the past.

Derision and scoffing is NOT the hallmark of the wise man -- quite the contrary. Scripture even talks about this.

Your instant aversion to this "topic" is VERY bizarre and unexpected to me, now that you mention it. Are you taking this topic personally or something? And if so, why? I don't have any ongoing beef with you at the moment. Honestly, I didn't think about you once during the conception or delivery of this topic.
