Bishop Williamson is not opposed to Tolkien.
. And in response to another post, he doesn't think that "The Sound of Music" is pornographic or sensual, he just doesn't like the "sappiness!"
You can trust me, I have a dear friend who is a protege of the dear Bishop. I asked him about these issues, and he gave me the answers.
I also did not read The Hobbit BEFORE seeing the movie (but the audiobook narrated by Robert Inglis is phenomenal!!) but I agree, there are some discrepancies in the film version. But that ALWAYS seems to happen, doesn't it!?!? :scratchchin:
The cinematography was breathtaking, though!!
My hubby was commenting on the fact that the book was more lighthearted than the movie...
