Heretics, but world-famous for being a super large family.

Trads get called Duggars all the time.

Unfortunately the Duggars have made themselves world famous for other things of late.

Which of course the secularists use to impugn large families in general.

That's the price of fame.

If one kid out of 19 goes bad, there's also something called free will. How many one-kid or two-kid families end up having their kids grow up to be delinquents.

Kept hearing about them years ago, and when I finally caught one of the shows, the first 30 seconds was enough for me...

"So, you just got home with # 16, how do you feel?" says the reporter.

"I feel great! Ready to do it again!" says the mom.

THAT SO put me off, that ever since, when people would talk about them, I would tell them...

If they were not Trads: NO woman in her right mind would say that (not saying that she should be closed to life, but, I have 10+, and it isn't normal to not be so engrossed and concentrating on that new little one, instead of already talking about the "next" etc blah blah blah you get my point).

If they were Trads, I would add "and you wait. Some way, some how, the media, their family, etc., will some how SO slander large families that it will only be ammo all the more". End quote. Not tooting my own horn, but, gee, who would have seen it coming?

So, what to say now? The same thing I have all along...There is something wrong with them. . Slander or self preservation...not sure, but its the truth. Fwiw.

Fault me if you will, but I tried to give the Duggar's the benefit of the doubt over the years. Trying to see the positive aspects while both ruing their choice of TV exposure and praying for the families' conversion. I, too, had serious misgivings about them publicizing themselves ...while they insisted that they were always pointing to Jesus and His Word as their focus in life and in their daily choices.

I know this is a huge shock and wake-up call for them ... and I'm really sorry that the world is only going to see this as more Christian hypocrites and discount the Faith (knowing that I'm referencing heretical Protestantism here).

I sympathize with them because I know what it's like to put your heart and soul into raising children and with a tendency toward legalism. I don't know how their son got corrupted. But it obviously happened when he was a child. And with their understanding of Faith .. they don't have the Sacraments. So he did not have the benefits of Confession, Penance and the Eucharist.

Praying for their conversions.
