Title: The Beatitudes
Post by: poche on June 11, 2013, 02:12:09 AM
The Beatitudes can be understood only by someone whose heart is open to the Holy Spirit, Pope Francis said at a morning Mass on Monday, June 10.

The Beatitudes are “the new commandments,” the Pope said. But at first glance, to those with a worldly attitude, they make no sense. They are, he said, “the law for those who have been saved and have opened their hearts to salvation.”

The Pope observed that the Gospel tells of listeners who wanted to debate with Jesus. That is because “their hearts were closed in on their own concerns,” and they were not ready to hear God’s promptings, he said. This is a common problem, he added—that people are fearful of opening themselves to the prospect of salvation because they are jealously clinging to “control over ourselves.”

How do you live the Beatitudes in your daily life?

Ban Poche.

I don't see how is posting about newchurch teachings and happenings every day (in multiple places, starting multiple threads) fits onto a traditional Catholic forum.

In a lot of ways, it's the same kind of softening up going on throughout our chapels.

Every morning when I wake up, I have to sort through multiple new threads about the new wonderful thing Casual Frank just said that Poche just had to share with us.

What's missing?  Is there something in the case for his banning that has yet to be provided?  Let me know, I'll put the case together, this has gone on too long, IMO.
