Teenager Does Self-Abortion With Pencil, Boyfriend Buries Baby's Body

Lehigh, PA (LifeNews.com) -- A 13-year-old Pennsylvania girl reportedly conducted a self-abortion using a lead pencil after her much-old boyfriend subjected her to statutory rape. The 30-year-old boyfriend, officials say, then buried the body of the dead unborn child after the abortion was completed.

Pennsylvania State Police told the Express Times newspaper that staff at the Lehigh Valley Hospital informed them Sunday morning of the incident.

Hospital officials say signs indicate the unnamed Polk Township girl was pregnant and told them she became very ill in the three days following the self-induced abortion, started having contractions and ultimately delivered the dead baby.

Police informed the newspaper that Michael James Lisk, of Kunkletown, who is believed to be the father of the unborn child, put the baby's body in a plastic shopping bag and buried the bag in a wooded area alongside a road between his house and the girl's.

A police forensics unit has recovered the bag and the body of the baby and will run DNA tests to determine the parents.

Police say Lisk and the teenager had been having a sɛҳuąƖ relationship lasting since June 2009. The newspaper reported Lisk was arraigned on charges of rape and concealing the death of a child and is in Monroe County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The girl has not been charged and is receiving therapy and the autopsy of the baby's body is slated for Tuesday.

Bryan Kemper, the head of Stand True, a pro-life group reaching out to youth and young adults, informed LifeNews.com of the incident and commented on it.

He said it would not have ever made the news had the girl used an abortion drug and aborted the baby at home instead of engaging in a self-induced abortion.

"I am sure this story probably has most people wanting to vomit and cry at the same time as their hearts break for this little girl. I would also guess however that many of those same people would not even bat an eye if her method of killing her child had been a RU 486 prescription from the local Planned Parenthood," Kemper said.

"I would goes as far as saying many would praise her for making such a brave choice," he added. "The method of killing the child should not matter."

About abortion advocates and their reaction to the story, Kemper said: "I can also hear the spin now, 'this is why we need safe and legal abortion,'" -- even though abortions are already legal and are supposed to prevent such self-induced abortions.

Kemper says he's glad Lisk was arrested and hopes he is brought to justice for his alleged crimes.

"If the girl had gone to Planned Parenthood he would probably still be raping her as I doubt they would have turned him in," Kemper explained.

This is local news for me. I haven't been following it really, in fact I just heard about it. But I do have something to add. This 30 year old man lived in the apartment next to this young girl. Apparently no one found it suspicious when this man "befriended" her. She was closer to 12 at the time. More than likely both the girls parents work outside the home and no one wanted to get involved. In fact, one man who thought something "strange" was going on in the woods, didn't quite know what to make of it. Now a young girl is damaged and devastated while a baby is dead. Sad and horrendous. But yes, you are right. No one would bat an eyelash had she take PlanB. What an evil world.

Heck , she could have gone to a clinic and gotten it doen no questions asked. They don't even ask for the name of the father. If they did, she could just say she didn't know. This is just a s case of stupidity. It is very easy to abort with impunity in this evil country.

Yes, she could have gone into Allentown and probably no one would have asked. Money isn't an option either, really. One death clinic in Philly advertises all their payment options, included a credit plan that can be used like a credit card. If you request it, you can also pay an extra $200 and have the whole clinic to yourself so you can murder your child in "private." Sick and disgusting.
