Are there any good researchers out there, or anyone who owns the Summa?

I own the Summa, Mousey. Which part did you want to look up?

Well, that's going to be somewhat challenging, since I'll know when I see it.  One of the things I wanted to get certain definitions by directly from St. Thomas Aquinas on the different occasions of sin (there are 4).  I also wanted to look up what he says about various entertainments, but since this isn't a topic in it of itself, I would have to take other areas and combine them.  It might be easier if I had access to it myself, but I can't do that until tonight (I just don't have enough time on my break to go to the chapel that has it and come back).

I guess I've already said my opinion here... If you want to read summa here's the link...

    http://www.newadvent.org/summa

credit must go to Kephapaulos for giving me that link...

Really? When did I give that link to you? lol

    Let me edit that.

credit must go to Kephapaulos for introducing me to the summa of that link...

I just checked out New Advent's link. It is very abridged.

Is that so? I'm having a hard time reading that. I wonder if I can cope up with the non-abridged ones...

  • Yah!  The non-abridged is quite challenging, but it is more thorough.  I find myself reading, re-reading, re-re-reading, backing up, reading again, until I get it.  And it's HUGE --- several volumes... BUT, the cool part is that the index and table of contents are easier to follow (I think it was a TAN that I had used).

I don't know when I'll get a chance to head out there.  This is a hugely busy time for me.  I've been so busy that I forgot what day it was yesterday (I actually did Monday twice this week).  This might not be the best time for me to be analyzing St. Thomas, lol, but on the other hand, it is actually a great relaxation for me, so maybe I will have to make time by Sunday.

I am also weary of subjects that have no discernible end in sight or definitive answer that can be fact checked. But I do hope someone will pick this up with you to probe deeper.

Does this mean you're becoming/have become an agnostic?
