Over  and 2/12 years ago I gave my aunt a cookbook and she was extremely thrilled. A few weeks ago I had a huge stack of cookbooks to give to my aunt and right away she turned them down acting like there was a catch. She asked If she had to pay for them.

One of my uncles who is a Traditional Catholic says there are many times a Non-Catholic will not accept certain freebies from a Traditional Catholic because they do not want to feel indebted to a Traditional Catholic.

Before becoming a Traditional Catholic I knew the truth did strange things but ever since becoming a Traditional Catholic I am finding Truth does seem to be stranger than fiction.

Please post some of your strange interactions have had with Non-Catholics. I will post more of my own examples.

Some of the strange interactions I have had with Non-Catholics leads me to believe many Non-Catholics talk about us Traditional Catholics behind our backs much more than we think.

  • Last year we had a free meal at work and one of my coworkers did not seem  to want to sit near me. He said to one of my other coworkers, "Why do you want to sit here?" She said, "This is as good of place as any."

I think he did not want to sit near me because he did not want to have me inject truth into the conversation if world event subjects were brought up. He wanted to be kept in the dark while fooling himself into think he has no accountability.

  • Really enjoying the traditional mennonites around us. Everything I like about them is catholic what I dont like about them is not. The famiiles know we are different than the charismatic catholics both in lifestyle and belief so they have looked upon us with great interest.

Unfortuantely when we get rolling on theology some do step back almost fearful because what we say hits the heart. They fumble for words have no comebacks and end up retracting some. They have a limitation on how much discussion and closeness they can have with us traditional catholics. Alot of what we say goes contrary to the myths and deceits they were taught and it makes many uneasy.

It has only been 3years of community but hoping for dialoque to continue without pride, prejudice, pressure only prayer and understanding where they are at.

As a catholic I challenge my faith and make sure it actually is Catholic. So far so good havent had any issues to bad my fellow Mennonites are too fearful to challenge what they believe. If it is indeed truth it should prevail.   Annie

  • I have known several Mennonites and Dunkards, as well as a few Amish, mostly through business.  I have found almost all of them to be fine people, and rigorously honest in their business affairs.  Also, I have never known one of them who did not regard children as the greatest blessing in life.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir
