Easter Sunday Sermon, 19 April, 2023

TimeStamp: 19:20, where +Williamson discusses the Proofs of the Resurrection. ..the fact that the 12 Apostles were afraid and hiding before Easter, but after only 50 days, they eventually 'conquered' the world. Impossible according to human nature.
The second fact then, where is the Body of Our Lord?

The second fact then, where is the Body of Our Lord?

The perfidious Jews would have been VERY keen to produce the body of Our Lord, if such had been possible.
The fact that they couldn't speaks volumes.
The best they could come up with was "sleeping witnesses" -- an absurdity pointed out by a Father of the Church in one of the readings of Matins (Divine Office).
It's up there with "those MIRACLES were done by the power of the devil, I tells ya!"

Ah, so there were miracles, eh?

Speaking of which, I would point out that only from the safety of 1900 years later did anyone suggest that Our Lord didn't exist. Notice that no one tried this argument in, say, the 300's.
It's like taunting and teasing a wrestler or martial artist from behind strong bars, or from an idling car (ready to get away), where you know he can't reach you. Try saying that in the same room with him!
Likewise, the modern idiots who dare deny Our Lord's existence only do so from the "safety" of 20 centuries placed between them and the actual time in which Our Lord walked the earth. If they had made such a suggestion ANYWHERE NEAR the time of Our Lord, they would have been laughed to derision. They would have been given (rightfully) the due treatment of a madman.

    He is risen. Alleluia!
