  • Father Thomas Kreiser, who most recently served as a parochial vicar of St. Joseph’s parish in Bronxville, has been cleared of charges involving a minor.
“We were pleased today to learn that the charges against Father Thomas Kreiser have been dismissed,” said Joseph Zwilling, director of communications for the archdiocese, in a statement Sept. 24. “Father Kreiser has steadfastly maintained his innocence, and it is good to see that justice has been done.
“Father Kreiser has remained a priest throughout, although he was without an assignment and restricted from publicly exercising his ministry while the case was under investigation,” Zwilling said. “We now look forward to meeting with him and discussing his future assignment.”
Father Kreiser was appointed to St. Joseph’s in July 2018. As reported in CNY last October, an allegation was made against Father Kreiser after his arrival at the parish. The Westchester County district attorney then investigated the matter.
The case involving a young female was decided in Westchester County Court.
“The matter is closed,” said Father Kreiser’s attorney, Bruce Bendish, of Goodrich & Bendish in White Plains, in a phone interview Sept. 24.
From the beginning, Father Kreiser had said “that he was not guilty of these charges, and these events never occurred,” Bendish said.
The matter was dismissed and sealed.

We hear a lot about the bad people. I think we should hear when someone who is unjustly accused is exonerated.
