  • Does anyone know of a source for small outdoor stations suitable for home use?

  • Isn't the only thing absolutely necessary the actual crosses themselves?  You could just erect 14 crosses in your back yard if so.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Stations of the Cross have to be canonically erected.  If you wish to gain the indulgences you need a specially blessed crucifix for that specific purpose BUT you can only get the indulgences if you are lawfullly prohibited from making the stations at a church (where they have been canonically errected), if you are sick, in prison or in a plane or boat etc.

  • So would it be considered improper to have them just for a private devotion, not making them for the indulgence?

I'm trying to think of ways to make my garden more "visually" meditative.  If the Stations are not appropriate any other ideas?

I'll take the idea for a prayer garden over to the catholic living sub forum.

  • Hi Marsha, you might want to ask a traditional priest about erecting them anywhere at home.  I know the NO people think they can erect anything they want where ever they want but that just isn't very reverent.
A beautiful, meditation garden would be lovely;  a couple of outdoor statues with flowers planted would be very calming and serene.  This is what convent gardens are like.  A wonderful place to meditate, pray the rosary etc and when tending the gardens I think you would feel like you're not alone
