  • It means something where I live. Statistically, the vast majority of Latinos are Catholic. As far as some people's life of sin that is why Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Confession. Where I live there are long lines at the confessional when they announce confessions in Spanish. There are also long lines at the confessionals when they announce confession in English. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." - Jesus

I don't know about other places but this is not the "nobody goes to confession anymore" place. Every day that it is offered there are long lines at the confessional.

Then go and sin no more with your half-quotes/half-truths/abject lies.

No, it means go and live your life as a Catholic. and if you happen to fall go to confession so that you can be reconciled with Christ.

Statistically Latinos have always been 98% baptized Catholics.

If where you live there are long lines at the confessional, it is only because it is a big city and they have a large congregation of say 5000, and only have confessions on Saturdays between 4-5pm. From everything you have ever written  here on Cathinfo I think you are either a habitual a liar, or  dilusional, likely both. I do not believe a word you say.

Where I live it is a mid-sized city. Confessions are available three times a week for periods of an hour to an hour and a half. I almost always encounter long lines for confession. Sometimes they have people waiting for upwards of 1/2 to3/4 of an hour before confession starts waiting for the priest.

In France less than 4% of Catholics go to mass. The rest of Western Europe has similar numbers 4-7%. In Brazil, the country with the largest Catholic population 7%. And of those miniscule  percentages, they are mostly old ladies and no men.  What country are you talking about? Scarcely anyone LIVES the faith, going to mass means nothing, and no one even does that. The Vatican II religion has made the Catholic faith irrelevant.

"Go and sin no more" also means "Stop mixing lies with Truth, no more partial quotes and half truths that are complete lies."

  • There are pockets of happiness here and there. My parish always had a long line for Confession. It depends on where you are. That being said it's obvious the the Church is on collapse at my parishes around the world. Heck the feminists in Argentina are planning to burn the Buenos Aires cathedral.

You are completely right — I've seen it personally.

I was baptized as an infant, but I can count the number of times on one hand that I've seen either parent at Mass.

It's a very common phenomenon in countries where 70-80% of the population are one religion, because it's not seen as actual religious practice, it's just something cultural. It's something you identify with by default.

I know, for example, my own mother and father. They are the most poorly-catechized people I've ever seen. Couldn't tell you a thing from the Catechism. Never married in the Church. Still identify as Catholic.

Here is an article from Mexico which reads, "90% of Catholics in Mexico don't go to Mass".

If they go to a church, it's probably an Evangelical or Pentecostal church.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

Yes, but the ordinary means of forgiveness is confession.
