  • The Time-Management Technique for the Internet Age

The internet age is full of distractions, people no longer have any power of concentration whatsoever, so this technique is needed.

    • - Select a task from your To Do Today List
    • - Set your alarm clock to 25 minutes
    • - Keep working until the alarm goes off. Concentrate on your task. Tell yourself it is only 25 minutes and try to avoid getting distracted.
    • - When the alarm goes off, stop immediately and take 5 minutes break. Put an "X" symbol next to your task on your To Do Today List.
    • - Listen to some classical music and your mind will be refreshed.
    • - After your break, resume your work if it has not been completed. If your task has been completed, then pick a new task. Keep working until the alarm goes off again. After the alarm goes off again, add an "X" symbol next to your task on your To Do Today List.
    • - Repeat the above steps until all the tasks for today are completed.

(This technique is called the Pomodoro Technique which was invented by Mr Francesco Cirrilo)

  • This is basically how I run my first grade classroom, only the concentrated work segments are 15-20 minutes before a five minute break.  Sad this advice is for adults.
