  • I stopped asking Latinos their names like 10 years ago because of the made up names their parents gave them. They tell you their names like they're saying a common name like Jose, but their name is some hillbilly made up name like Usmail, Yusnavi (US Mail, US Navy) no kidding. My theory is that they are no longer being taken to a priest to be baptized, so there is no priest to change the name. Or maybe the Novus Ordo priests in South America do not care what you name the child.

You see the same among USA "blacks" , they too use to be given Christian names at their Protestant baptisms. I guess the same happened with them. Granola, Lasagna, Don'ta…..

Then you have even traditionalists naming their children Cody, Dakota, Jackson, Madison, Clint, Carson...… being trads they have a Christian middle name for the baptism. It is a sign of not being a real trad, or of not having been at the time they decided they give their child a fashion of the day name.

  • I am increasingly seeing Latinos named after Aztec devils—Quetzalcoatl, etc.

  • It seems that Latinos (especially the younger generations) quickly become corrupted after moving to the United States. Public schools, degenerate music, filthy movies, social workers, and a Woke corporate elite all work together to wreck the morals and traditional sensibilities of Latino immigrants. Bizarre names like "Usmail" and "Yusnavi" are symptoms of this corruption. Although poor minorities (ie. Latinos and Blacks) are more susceptible to it, the corruption is occurring across all the racial groups.

In the old days, white Catholics used to name their children after Christian Saints. It was rare to see them name their children after Old Testament or secular figures. After Vatican II, white Catholics in the Novus Ordo church started naming their children anything that suited their fancy.

I definitely think that secular names among traditionalist children is a sign of creeping modernism and corrupting influences.

  • This is what happens when God removes the grace of the True Mass from the world and eclipses the voice of the Church.

We went from the Cristero martyrs to Latino countries being the biggest dregs of paganism and impurity on the planet.

    This is unbelievable.

Dear Lord, we cry "Uncle" already.  Please, please stop already ... for the sake of your elect.

Actually Usmail is a variation on the biblical name Ismail.  It is very common in the Spanish speaking world to give old testament names to their children.

Nah, in this case, I agree with Last Trad that Usmail is probably "US Mail" rather than a variant of Ismael.  So now you're even trying to pretend that the general apostasy of the Latino Catholic world doesn't exist?

  • Those are Cuban name's and have nothing to do with the rest of Latin America. Using American words in a name is a subtle jab at the Cuban government.

Poche, I'm Latino. I can attest that religious, Catholic Latinos don't really exist anymore. They're either Pentecostal or not religious.

  • My wife is latina.  We used to attend, about once every other month or so, a local mass in Spanish.  They were so over-the-top nutzo, especially with the music, that I would refer to them as the 'Mariachi masses.'  It was literally a three-ring circus, with children running around free the entire time.  But at least there were children.  I got the feeling that most of those in attendance were relatively recently arrived from central America (won't even comment on their status), were quite poor, and not very well educated (nor catechized).  The priest just smiled as I think he was happy someone was there under the age of 70.

LOL, yes, USNavy and USmail are Cuban names, however, there are a million other made up names in South America. We had a client's wife that would come by our office a few times a year with her husband, her name was Yonemi (?), at least that is how it sounded to me, and all other Latinos in the office didn't have a clue how it was spelled or how it really sounded, so they called her yo y mi (which translates to I and me), mostly, they did like me and avoided mentioning her name to her.

Where I live I understand that the local parish averages around 30 baptisms a month. One month there were over 80 baptisms. The Spanish masses are full. And the people are friendly to Catholic Tradition.

Spaniards have always baptized, married and buried in the Church, and in between they contracept, fornicate, adultery, have mistresses, girls go topless at the beach, men drink excessively and smoke like chimneys, and they are masons (meanwhile they send their daughters to school with the nuns, and teach their boys to "contracept, fornicate, adultery, have mistresses, to play with the topless at the beach, drink excessively and smoke like chimneys, and to join the masons") .  Of course Spaniards would be friendly to tradition because it is part of their culture. It all means nothing. The churches are full of old women, no men go there, nor young people.

It means something where I live. Statistically, the vast majority of Latinos are Catholic. As far as some people's life of sin that is why Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Confession. Where I live there are long lines at the confessional when they announce confessions in Spanish. There are also long lines at the confessionals when they announce confession in English. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." - Jesus
