It's true -- in virtually all SANE cultures (which excludes the modern American un-culture that masquerades as a culture) mothers don't even think twice about "how will I feed my baby" since God gave them a unique means of doing so, which has countless benefits for the mother AND baby. And moreover, babies seem to want to breastfeed much longer than 6 or 12 months -- and I think that's a GOOD, normal, natural thing, not something that should be corrected out of them (like selfishness, or other wounds of original sin)
Back in the day, babies would be "weaned" when they were well over 2 years old. Sometimes it wasn't their mother that nursed them (but rather a "wet nurse") but everyone considered a "toddler" or even a "school age 4 year old" to be just a baby. And really it's true. Look how vulnerable and sensitive most 2 and 3 year olds are.
The modern world wants everyone to be an adult as soon as possible. A 2 year old is a "big kid", and a 5 year old is a "mini adult". What happened to babyhood, and childhood?
And to top it off, adults go and live their childhood at age 20. Is that disordered or what?
