  • Almost everyone on CI knows this about Solomon.  Frankly, the post doesn't sound like Cassini, imo.  The chosen text/font is also odd.

yes, it was me. I was tempted to put the subject up on unfunny stuff but decided not to. It is his wisdom given by God to him that I was aware of, so when I read about his wives and mistresses that was new to me. Hadn't God given Moses the ten Commandments long before Solomon. Surely number seven, and no 10, inferred one husband and one wife was God's intention. I just took it for granted a biblical person like Solomon, blessed by God with wisdom lauded by Cardinal Bellarmine, would have knowledge that 700 wives was outrageous and that 300 mistresses was adding to that. Imagine the squabbling that went on among them? One said to the other, its over two years since I was with him.
Oh, yes the text. My eyesight is getting worse so I upped it a bit to read better.

  • I believe such stories are from occult Jєωιѕн and Islamic sources. Would the Lord give Solomon instructions on how to build the Temple without providing him the means of building it?

I don't discount everything in Jєωιѕн/Islamic sources when it comes to things of a historical nature.  Who's to say that Solomon didn't decide at one point that it was too costly to keep building the temple and wondered if a demon couldn't help it along.  After all, he was involved in all kinds of idolatry under the influence of his "wives".

  • Folks need to read their Bibles more.  (It’s the one legitimate complaint Protestants have against Catholics, IMO.). Solomon fell into idolatry in the effort to please all his wives and concubines.  Mostly, they were the spoils of war and, shall we say, very well kept!  Unfortunately, the king had easy access to them right nearby.  If he’d have set up their quarters an inconvenient distance away, maybe it wouldn’t have happened.  Or, he could have forced them by decree to convert.
    Imagine having 700+ mother’s-in-law!!!

  • King David cheated on his wife with his best friend’s wife.  She becomes pregnant.  Then King David sends his buddy into battle to die.
And then there's the part when the Lord calls him "a man after My own Heart."
