St. Marguerite-Marie Alacoque wrote to her superior Mother of Saumaise (Paray-le-Monial):

"Ah. Happiness for you and for those who contribute to it. For they attract the friendship and eternal blessings of this kind Heart, and a powerful protector for our homeland ...
He only wants to establish His reign among us to bestow His precious graces of sanctification and salvation more abundantly. ”

A second letter, sent on 17 June 1689, with a very explicit request:

“... It seems to me that Our Lord desires to enter with pomp and magnificence into the house of princes and kings, to be honoured there as much as he has been outraged, despised and humiliated in his Passion, and that He shall receive as much pleasure in seeing the great of the earth lowered and humiliated before Him, as He has felt bitterness Himself while annihilated by them.

And here are the words I heard on this subject:

"Make it known to the eldest Son of my Sacred Heart (speaking of the King of France) that, as his temporal birth was obtained by the devotion to the merits of my holy Childhood, likewise he will obtain his birth of eternal glory by the Consecration to my adorable Heart, which wishes to triumph over his own, and, through him, the great of the earth. It wants to reign in his palace, to be painted in his standard and carved on his weapons, to make them victorious over all his enemies and of all those of the Holy Church. My Father wants to use the King to carry out His purpose, which is the consecration of a public edifice where the painting of my Heart would be placed to receive men from all over France."

This letter of 17 June 1689 remained unanswered by Mother of Saumaise or anyone else. That is why Marguerite-Marie wrote again, on 12 August 1689, in these terms:

"I confess to you, my dear Mother, that your silence on the two letters which I had given myself the honour of writing to you, pains me, not knowing what to attribute it to, except that perhaps I have marked you too freely and simply my thoughts, which I might have done better to hide under a humble silence. You only have to testify to it to me, and I can assure you that in this I will very much contented with the inclination I have to never talk about these things, but to keep them buried in the secret of the Sacred Heart of my divine Master.
...

Saint Marguerite-Marie wrote a new letter on 28 August 1689:

Long live, Jesus.

"The eternal Father, wishing to repair the bitterness and anguishes which the adorable Heart of His divine Son has received in the house of the princes of the earth, among the humiliations and outrages of His Passion, wants to establish His empire in the heart of our great monarch, from whom He wishes to serve Himself for the execution of His purpose, which is to make an edifice where a painting of this divine Heart will be placed.

Moreover, this divine Heart intends to protect and defend his sacred person against all his enemies. That is why he chose him as his faithful friend, to have a Mass authorized by the Apostolic Holy See, and to obtain all other privileges that must accompany the devotion of this divine Heart.

It is through this divine Heart that He wishes to pour forth the treasures of his graces of sanctification and salvation, spreading his blessings over all his endeavours, giving a happy success to his weapons, and making him triumph over the malice of his enemies. ”

Thus, the written request to respond to the requests of Our Lord was repeated, namely:
- a national consecration to the Heart of Jesus,
- a national temple raised by France to the Heart of Jesus,
- the conversion of the King and the whole court
- an inscription of the Heart of Jesus on a national standard, whereby God will render the king, that is to say, France, victorious of all its enemies, and will give him an eternal reign of honour and glory.

Has our Lord's request relating to France reached the King? There is no evidence to certify it, but if we analyse the revelation of Our Lord Jesus Christ who complained to Sister Lucia of Fatima, in August 1931 in Rianjo, of the lack of response to his request to consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and there was no answer:

[ "They didn't want to listen to my request. Like the King of France, they will repent, and they will do so, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors around the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church: the Holy Father will have to suffer a great deal. Let my ministers know that, following the example of the King of France, delaying the execution of my orders, they will follow him in his demise ."]

242 years after the request made to the King of France these astonishing words of Christ suggest that Louis XIV knew exactly what God wanted from him, even if he finally died without responding to the demands of Heaven, and the fact that the Lord spoke of it again for so long after also showed how much importance Jesus attached to it ...

Then, 100 years - to the day!- after the letter mentioning the requests of the Sacred Heart, on 17 June 1789, the States General decided to proclaim themselves Constituent Assembly: this is the key moment of France's transition to the revolution, and it is difficult to see nothing but a coincidence ...

Later, Louis XVI fell from the throne into a prison, overwhelmed by the misfortunes of France, seeing that there were no resources anywhere, remembered Marguerite-Marie and the secret that had been entrusted to his ancestor. Then he decided to finally accomplish this consecration of France to the Heart of Jesus which God had asked of his fathers and which had not been achieved, but it was very late ...

The history of the Sacred Heart and France was not over, however, and several remarkable episodes had to follow in particular:

  - the resistance of the Vendeans in the name of the Sacred Heart until the massacres of 1793,
  - the construction of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Montmartre after the National Vow of 1870,...

"...  Later, through an intimate communication, Our Lord complained to me: ‘They did not wish to heed My request! …Like the King of France they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer.’

Our Lord was here making an explicit reference to the requests of the Sacred Heart given through Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque on June 17, 1689 to the King of France. As a result of the refusal of King Louis XIV – as well as the refusal of both his son and grandson, King Louis XV and King Louis XVI – to publicly consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as was requested by Heaven by means of a recognized French Saint of that time, the Protestant and Masonic Counter-Church successfully carried out the great upheaval of the French Revolution.

On June 17, 1789, (the Feast of the Sacred Heart) exactly one hundred years to the day from when Saint Margaret Mary had written down the great designs of Heaven for the King, the Third Estate rose up and proclaimed itself a National Assembly, stripping King Louis XVI of his legislative power. On January 21, 1793, France, ungrateful and rebellious to its God, dared to decapitate its most Christian King as if he were a criminal. At Rianjo, Jesus warns us that this dark chapter of history will repeat itself, and this time the ministers of His Church – the bishops, and perhaps even the Pope himself – will be among its hapless victims.

The King of Heaven addresses the King of France

"...In June 1689, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque wrote a letter to her superior in which she recounted a supernatural message she had just received from the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was a communication to be given to Louis XIV.

The King of Heaven addressed the monarch in the following terms:

“Make it known to the firstborn of my Sacred Heart that, just as his temporal birth was obtained through devotion to the merits of my sacred infancy, so his birth into grace and eternal glory will be obtained by his consecration to my adorable Heart, which wants to triumph over his heart, and through it, over that of the great ones of the earth.

“It wants to reign in his palace, to be painted on his banners and engraved on his arms so that they may be victorious over all his enemies. It wants to cast down at his feet these proud and haughty heads, so that he may be triumphant over all the enemies of the Church.”2

To whom had the God-Man himself ever granted such a gift? What intimacy, what love and what promise! The road to the restoration of France had to begin in the soul of the king, a truly chosen and favoured man… the “firstborn” of the Heart of Jesus!  The “God-given” king.

In His communication, Our Lord alludes to “two births” of King Louis XIV, each of which is closely linked to providential designs. Let us analyse them both.
".... 1637, an Augustinian friar named Fiacre, while praying in his cell in a Paris convent, was graced with a heavenly vision: the Blessed Virgin presented him with the child that God wanted to give to the crown of France. But for this grace to be achieved, the queen had to recite a novena in honour of Our Lady of Grace, whose image was venerated in the shrine of Cotignac.

And her prayers were answered: after twenty-three years of sterility, Anne of Austria gave birth to little Louis, who, because of his providential birth, was given the second name Dieudonné, that is, God-given.

After Louis XIII’s marriage to Anne of Austria in 1615, years went by without a dauphin being born in France..."
