  • The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.
    [1 Corinthians 11:7]
Context is important. St. Paul is speaking of a woman who is "praying or prophesying."

5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.

6 For if a woman be not covered, let her be shorn. But if it be a shame to a woman to be shorn or made bald, let her cover her head.

Read the quotes I posted from the Saints. It's not just in those circuмstances. Also aren't we supposed to pray always? So likewise a woman should cover her head always.

It's really telling how some 'Catholics' dislike being told by Catholic Saints that women should cover their heads in public.

    Quote
Well then: the man he compels not to be always uncovered, but only when he prays. For every man, says he, praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head. But the woman he commands to be at all times covered. Wherefore also having said, Every woman that prays or prophesies with her head unveiled, dishonors her head, he stayed not at this point only, but also proceeded to say, for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven. But if to be shaven is always dishonorable, it is plain too that being uncovered is always a reproach. And not even was he content, but added again, saying, The woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. He signifies that not at the time of prayer only but also continually, she ought to be covered"

    st john chrysostom

Notice how St John makes it very clear that women should ALWAYS be covered. Gray when you say that women should only be covered during prayer you are interpreting scripture according to you own will. But being Catholic we ought to agree with those Saints who are far greater than on understanding scripture.

    As it is written.

30 And Philip running thither, heard him reading the prophet Isaias. And he said: Thinkest thou that thou understandest what thou readest?

31- Who said: And how can I, unless some man shew me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him [Acts Of Apostles 8:31]

It was Cera, not me, Gray.  Please check your facts.

The quote you just posted says men should cover their heads accept in prayer.  Do you always wear a hat?

My apologies Gray not Cera. It would seem that St John does indeed suggest that Sy Paul says for men to be covered except when praying. Though he has very little to say on men compared to women.

  • Anthony, why do you continue to take Holy Scripture out of context?
Context is important. St. Paul is clearly speaking specifically  of a woman who is "praying or prophesying."

5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.

There are modern pictures of St. Gemma Galgani and St.Terese, both with uncovered heads.

  • The man indeed ought not to cover his head, because he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.
    [1 Corinthians 11:7]

St Augustine takes this further saying that a women is only the image and likeness of God when she is with her husband. Men will understand this, feminists will gnash with the teeth.
So, an unmarried woman is not in the image and likeness of God?

  • Women should wear the veil when in public. Jeans and pants should also be outlawed for women. Anything tight and revealing should also be banned.

When it comes to men, shorts that are above the knee, and tight fitting clothes. Men wearing tight fitting clothes is just effeminacy. For the sake hygiene, beards and hair should be trimmed as well.

  • I often say that men should wear hats and ties and well polished shoes. A tie has the added advantage of being an item of clothing that only men wear, and is therefore a strong marker of virility. Just a woman in a dress is strong public marker of femininity.
Except many men don't have cushy white-collar jobs where they have to wear a suit. Many of them are doing hard manual labour and they are in cargo pants and shirts most of the time. To me that's pretty masculine and they are working hard to provide.

To be honest, when I see a man in a suit, it gives me salesperson vibes. And many of those men don't know how to fix things around the house.

I don't know exactly what St Augustine meant. But in terms of rationality a women does better when she is directed by a man

Why do you continue to ignore the interpretation of scripture according to Saint Chrysostom?

In the quote provided earlier the Saint tells us that a women should always be covered. I already mentioned this earlier, why are you choosing to ignore it?
