  • Even the Democrat NM State AG told the governor they will not represent NM State in the law suits.

  • This is the same woman who barricaded the city of Albuquerque during the lockdowns. Citing "rising cases numbers", she set up roadblocks on every single road going to Albuquerque and blocked anyone from going either into or out of the city. This blockade lasted several days, over a weekend, I think. No one could either enter or exit the city unless they had some sort of special permission.

I saw this on mainstream news outlets, who thought this was fantastic. This isn't something reported on some sketchy blog by a guy with a GoPro.

Of all the horrifying things that happened in that time, this strikes me as the worst. We heard a lot about Michigan not allowing people to plant in their yard or whatever, but to me it's far worse to put roadblocks and soldiers around an entire city and cut it off from the rest of the world.

I was very surprised this got very little media attention, and very little attention from conservatives. What she did was exactly the same thing as what the Scarecrow did to Gotham City in the third Batman movie, except that she didn't blow up any bridges. The fact that a comic book villain would be portrayed doing this gives you an idea of how horrible it is. And that's just a movie. What Grisham did was real.

In any case, if this woman can get re-elected after doing that, then there's no point paying much attention to what happens in New Mexico. I guess those people want slavery.

  • Trial balloon….
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

    .

Yes, I think so too. The politicians want to find out how far these "emergency powers" go, and what they can pretend is an "emergency" they can use to invoke those magical powers.

    Just like during the lockdowns.

I remember hearing that these so-called emergency powers were quietly signed into law about 20 years ago, I guess a little after 9/11, without any fanfare or discussion. When these emergency powers were invoked to shut down private businesses and restrict people's movements, I think most people (including me) had no idea any governor or politician of any kind had any legal right to do those things.

Some conservatives wanted to pass laws defining what constitutes an emergency and exactly what powers a governor has with regard to emergencies, but I think that went nowhere.
