The low Mass previously scheduled for tonight was changed to sung Mass in light of the SCOTUS decision this morning.
The priest connected all the right dots:
1) It was no coincidence the decision was published on the Feast of the Sacred Heart;
2) It was a great victory, but there are many more battles to be fought;
3) God was letting us know that He is still there, and He is still in charge;
4) It is a consolation for which He will expect a response from us.
5) Now is not the time to get complacent, but to get to work.
With all of this, I completely agree.
The church was packed to capacity, and after Mass we had minor exposition (ie., Blessed Sacrament remains inside open tabernacle), then the Litany of the Sacred Heart, then the Consecration of them Whole World to the Sacred Heart (Pope Pius), then the Te Deum.
