  • Because fαɢɢօtry is a most weird (hence the term "weirdo") perversion against nature and Divine Law, I think the term "Queerdo" is very apt.

  • First, on topic: I do not think we should refrain from language (e.g. sodomy or sodomite) that the Church has traditionally used simply to avoid offense. On the other hand, we should not seek to use terms (e.g. fag) simply because they cause offense. As pointed out, ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ and sodomy are both accurate terms that describe different but related realities. I see no issue using either.

Second, slightly off topic. I saw mention in this thread of a "holy hatred" for sin. Like just anger, this is something that is incredibly difficult for fallen men to practice properly. Were we saints, it would be quite simple to hate these sins because of the offense they cause God, and this would be a very useful tool in order to fight against our own evil inclinations.

Unfortunately, I think it is very easy to move in a direction where we focus hatred only toward the sins of others, and often it extends past their sins and toward their person. This is due to the weakness of our humanity, but I think I think the words of Saint Augustine on just anger apply well here (as quoted by Saint Francis de Sales):

"It is better not to allow anger, however just and reasonable, to enter at all, than to admit it in ever so slight a degree; once admitted, it will not be easily expelled, for, though at first but a small plant, it will immediately grow into a large tree.”

And of course, Saint Francis de Sales' point is well taken: "There was never an angry man that thought his anger unjust."

Just as our own anger more often leads us toward evil than toward the good, so does any hatred more often lead toward evil than good. Let us focus first on the charity that we owe toward God, and the hatred of sin will naturally follow. Cultivating this hatred ourselves (rather than allowing God to cultivate it within us through our love of Him) will only lead to destruction.

  • People should do some research on the origins of the word fαɢɢօt. Nero is involved.
