  • Greetings,

    Thank you for your visit.

Some members of my family knows, but not all, and not all of my Face Book friends knows about it. But here it is. It's sometimes embarrassing for me to say that, I'm on Social Security Disability when I am asked if I am working or not. So, I thought I'd share a bit of myself.  I have been diagnosed with schizoaffective Disorder and Depression in 2013.  Below is a brief summary of my diagnosis according to Social Security Administration and the Mayo Clinic.

"Schizoaffective disorder is a mental disease that is characterized by several conditions, including mood disorder and schizophrenia. This condition is not well understood compared to other mental disorders because it is a combination of different mental problems that might be unique in each affected individual. People with untreated schizoaffective disorder tend to lead lonely lives and experience difficulties in keeping jobs and attending school.

Schizoaffective disorder may differ from one individual to another. People with this condition experience psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations or delusions and mood disorder, according to Mayo Clinic. Mood disorder can either be depression or bipolar disorder, a medical illness that causes shifts in energy and moods. A person may also experience paranoid ideas and thoughts.

This disorder can be very disabling and may prevent an individual from being able to work. If you are unable to work due to this disorder, you may be eligible for Social Security disability, including Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Social Security Disabling Symptoms of Schizoaffective Disorder. Individuals who suffer from schizoaffective disorder can have a range of symptoms that can interfere with work. Here are a few Symptoms can include:

Illogical or disorganized speech, rapid speech or speech that cannot be followed or understood by others, paranoia in which you believe others are trying to harm you, delusions that special messages are hidden in common places, lack of concern with hygiene or grooming, extremes in mood (either very good or very bad mood), sleep problems, concentration issues, difficulties with memory, hallucinations, and social isolation."

Attached is an EXCERPT of the docuмent submitted to the Social Security Administration to determine my impairments, with added illustrations for presentation.  You may find it interesting, entertaining, joyful, and yes, maybe even put a little bit of fear in your soul.

  • This prayer to saint Dymphna, printed below, succinctly identifies her as the well-known patron saint of those with mental or nervous disorders or mental illness.

Good Saint Dymphna, great wonder-worker in every affliction of mind and body, I humbly implore your powerful intercession with Jesus through Mary, the Health of the Sick, in my present need. (Mention it.) Saint Dymphna, martyr of purity, patroness of those who suffer with nervous and mental afflictions, beloved child of Jesus and Mary, pray to Them for me and obtain my request.
(Pray one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.)
Saint Dymphna, Virgin and Martyr, pray for us.

According to tradition, as with another great saint, St. Philomena, St. Dymphna was martyred as a teenager for her purity when she resisted the advances of a powerful figure.
In St. Philomena’s case, it was the Roman emperor Diocletian in the Fourth century. In St. Dymphna’s case it an Irish pagan King named Damon, her own father, in the Seventh.
Apparently, St. Dymphna’s mother, who was quite beautiful, died when the child was only about 14. This so distressed King Damon that he sought to have his own daughter, who was Christian, take her place. (Talk about someone with a mental disorder!) Before this occurred, St. Dymphna had taken a vow of chastity, consecrating her virginity to Christ.
St. Dymphna then fled Ireland with Saint Gerebernus, her confessor, along with two others to escape the king. They landed in Belgium where they settled in the town of Gheel, but he caught up with them. Damon then killed Saint Gerebernus and St. Dymphna as well, when she refused to return to Ireland with him.
As with St. Philomena’s story, this account is given to us from tradition and its authenticity has been disputed, but the relics of both Saints have been very powerful indeed!
St. Dymphna’s relics were placed in a church built in her honor in Gheel, where she was martyred, as miraculous cures of mental disorders took place there in the centuries after her death. The town itself became a model of humane treatment for the mentally ill.

In the 13th century, the bishop of Cambray comissioned an account of St. Dymphna’s life’s story based on the oral tradition and the miracles attributed to her afterwards.
An infirmary to treat the mentally ill was built in Gheel, also in the 13th century, and the town still cares for them to this day. Miraculous cures of mental illness, and epilepsy as well, still occur at her shrine.

Prayers to St. Dymphna like the one above show her to be a great help not just to the mentally ill but, indeed, to anyone experiencing anxieties in these troubled times! Her feast day is May 15th.

  • Sounds like more of Jєωry's pseudo-scientific inventions of "disorders" in the pseudo-science of psychiatry.

  • Schizophrenia is a real illness.
And I've read of modern psychologists who have "diagnosed" St. Joan of Arc as being Schizophrenic.

  • JBR, You've told us almost nothing about yourself, just what Soc. Sec. says about "your" "disability". Please don't swallow it all, hook, line and sinker. Remember, they take no account of spiritual matters or your chances of being healed or your condition ameliorated.

Tell us more, if you feel like it.

How's things like your spiritual life, your use time, how you help others, how is your diet, etc etc?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • I am truly shocked that people call this "Jєωry's pseudo-science" or just plain do not believe mental disorders. In years past, I have worked with people that have severe schizophrenia, schizoaffective and other disorders.  Their cross in this life can be heavy.  Can we cut out the cynical look on life and try to have an ounce of compassion.  Life itself is hard enough, why make it worse with a negative cynical outlook.

RoughAshlar, Only one person, not "people", used the expression, "Jєωry's pseudo-science". That was Croix de Fer. Maybe if you ask him to explain, he will.
I am not convinced that all this is science. There could well be a smattering of mumbo-jumbo in this practice of medicine which we name psychiatry. I'm no expert, but I've seen a few things that make me doubt.
No doubt there are those who suffer from mental illness who need help, but that help will not necessarily come from "science".

  • Schizophrenia is a real illness.
No, it's not. A lot of the symptoms of "schizophrenia" and so-called "related disorders" are real, but often times there is either a physical or neurological (not the same as "psychiatric") cause to these symptoms; or there is a diabolical spiritual cause. One such physical or neurological cause that is often overlooked by idiotic doctors and lying psychiatrists is autoimmune encephalitis. This causes the body to produce a huge load of antibodies (that are supposed to target viruses & bacteria) that end up attacking the cells of the body, thus causing damage to the NMDA receptors that are found in the brain. Long story short, this causes many serious symptoms of "schizophrenia" that include, but aren't limited to, hallucinations, massive change in personality, mood swings, paranoia, etc.

  • It has been said that Lyme Disease can cause schizophrenia because the spirochete that causes Lyme Disease is similar (in the same genus) as that which causes syphilis. Patients affected with syphilis and/or Lyme Disease can regress, show more signs of mental illness, and become violent.

The problem with Lyme disease and syphilis is that many people are not diagnosed until the disease has progressed to the later stages where it affects the brain.

Dr. Mercola has written more about this, and he also warns that Lyme Disease can be transferred by sɛҳuąƖ contact.

If you were ever bitten by a tick or even a black widow spider (as they also carry Lyme Disease), and you have had symptoms of mental illness or depression, your primary disease could be Lyme Disease as most psychiatrists do not do a very thorough history. And one treatment of antibiotics is not sufficient.

Please read Dr. Mercola site for more articles. Here is just one:  https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2001/07/25/lyme-disease-part-two.aspx

Here is another article concerning Lyme Disease: https://wakeup-world.com/2015/08/08/lyme-disease-on-the-rise-as-tick-epidemic-spreads-across-the-u-s/

    A) The IDF is a terrorist organization
    B) There is no right to a Jєωιѕн state. Palestine belongs to the Catholic Church and Israel is occupying it. The first thing a Catholic nation would do is consider Israel illegitimate.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...
