My Aunt was informed about this place.  It has yet to be built and is supposed to be a retirement home for Traditional Catholics. They can walk to daily TLMass, be buried at the Catholic Cemetery on the grounds, and be in a Community of Traditional Catholics.

Meals and maintenance is all included in the rent, and you will need to be "sponsored" (vouched for) to be allowed in.

Any info/thoughts if this is a good idea?  I am on the fence about this for several reasons.

  • I believe a woman at my chapel heard about this place and wants to move there when it is opened.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • In my area we have so many widows in tradition and they must depend on charity just to get to Mass on Sunday.  They have all been  talking about building a special place where they could live together; but more importantly be safe and have access to the TLM daily.  Good idea.
If you look around, the protestants have retirement homes, nursing homes and apartments for their congregations.  We are in, and will be in for quite a while, a time when we will have many elderly.  Best we start making plans to take care of our own.

I saw a brochure maybe a year ago.  It looks as if it is for wealthy retirees!  Who would finance it?  The real need is for the elderly who are dependant upon charity.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Retirement? Slow down? Take it easy?

The only time a Trad is permitted to ever slow down is to reload or take cover!

Reload, take cover, tend to the wounded, pray -- 4 times.

Sarto Villa sounds like a great idea -- at $1,500 and up.

(Alpine lake reflecting the snowy peak are for promotional purposes only,
and are not indicative of any actual scenery to be found near Sarto Villa.)

This special environment will allow you to focus on what really matters in atmosphere that will nurture your physical, emotional, and spiritual well being.  You’ll have at your avail a rich Sacramental and Devotional life, with daily Mass, community Rosary, weekly Benediction, regular Confession and Spiritual Direction.

Question:  What do they do when Fellayites and Resistance members can't agree on the intentions of the community Rosary?

Forget the luxurious accommodations!  Let's set up a tent city near this alpine lake!  No rent, no mortgage, camping in God's beautiful creation.
What IS needed are homes for Trads who have no resources and would otherwise be thrown to government-run "care." Honestly, after a few weeks, I'd go batty in a "retirement" home, assuming I am mentally and physically capable of doing something other than going to Mass and being served meals in a dining room with a nice view.  I'd get up to playing pranks and they'd throw me out.

The Resistance can squat in the woods nearby and scavenge the trash for food and supplies.  I nominate Neil for our first mayor.

Consider a change in pace without housework or yard maintenance.  Forget daily meal planning.  Enjoy first class dining using only the freshest ingredients for which the Northwest is famous.  Your new found time can be used to explore scenic attractions, and engage in social activities.

What really sets this opportunity apart from others is the unique truly Catholic campus environment.  Imagine 40 acres at your doorstep including pristine wooded areas, a Traditional Catholic Church, School, Convent, and Cemetery.

This is first and foremost a development/real eastate company who are exploiting the vulnerability of the elderly, their hankering after that old-time tradition and their (mankind's) selfishness and laziness.

I understand somebody who is genuinely unable to look after themselves wanting and needing to be waited on, but surely one should do as much as possible for themselves and for others in order to live a truly Chritian life.
This sounds like seeking after a luxurious life. And luxury is to be spurned by traditional Catholics.

The old-world charm of St. Thomas Becket Church creates perfect harmony in this serene wooded setting.  This vibrant integrated community includes St. Thomas Becket Academy, the planned retirement center as well as a future assisted living facility.

Perfect harmony is found only in Heaven. It would be worth checking out St. Thomas Becket Academy.

Oops! I see that STBA is SSPX run. http://sttbchurch.org/

So what is the connection between SSPX and Oregan Land Company?

Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,

    Hmmmm....

I don't know why that's not surprising to me. I smelled a rat right when I saw that mailing around the same time (a year ago, or so) someone else here did.

    Found this too..

Anyone know about this business association?

Just wanted to let you know as a follow up to the story on the Sarto Villa, a similar development was planned a few years ago in Post Falls, ID.  I don't think it ever got off the ground but maybe you or a member who lives there can let you know.
