    • Thanks to a tip and a tad bit of Google-ing, I'm 90% certain I know RC1953's name.
    Since a search for that name does not come up with any obituaries, I think it's safe to assume he just decided to discontinue posting.
    If anyone would like to reach out to him, I'll give you the best email address I have and you can see if you get a reply.

    It's hard to imagine him not posting on here. I got the impression he spent all day reading the internet and posting on this website. My fear is that is most likely still alive, but simply incapacitated by a stroke or some other serious illness. I can't imagine anything else being able to keep him off of here.

    Yeah.  I'm not convinced he just decided not to post here any longer/to go cold turkey like that.  There was no indication that he wanted to do that.

    • I have seen posters suddenly disappear in situations in which money is tight for them.  Their computer breaks and they cannot afford to repair or replace it. Sometimes they turn up months later and explain what happened.

    I gather that rc1953 does not have a lot of money, so I find that a likelier scenario than that he woke up one day no longer interested in posting to CI.

    Of course it is possible, but I think he would have said goodbye in that situation.
