  • Anyone heard from him?  I see he hasn't posted/been online since the 13th, and I find that odd.  Is he okay?

  • That is odd that he hasn't posted for so long... I hope he's okay.

  • It is weird... I'd always click his news links and I half noticed when I clicked a little less on here but I didn't really realize until you pointed it out. Def pray

  • Yes, I’m wondering too. I hope he’s fine.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

Just did.  I thought there was a time (way) in the past where he didn't allow PM's, but it looks like it is enabled again.

  • Yes, nothing.  Matthew can you contact him at all?

I'm thinking either he lost computer access/internet, etc or he's not well.

  • Bumping. Was reminded of him (rc1953) with the latest news of Matto. Those inclined might put together some research efforts. His posting history is highly biographical. He most recently lived in Colorado, but also lived in Texas and was born in Redondo Beach. Not sure where the best place to search obits is, but I did spend some time looking through Summer 2021 obits in Colorado Springs this morning (an assumption of mine, since in one not-so-old post he mentioned living in a Southern CO town). I did not find anything.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • When RomanCatholic1953's absence was noted last year, I did a little digging on him and came up with some stuff that is discussed in this thread starting on page 2. Basically, RomanCatholic1953 seems to know another forum member named s2srea and one or both of them is from Lake Arrowhead. And yes, 1953 mentioned frequently that he has lived in Colorado now for many years.

Our best bet is to reach out to s2srea and see if we can get a hold of him.

Unfortunately, RomanCatholic1953 seems to have spent most of every day on this forum. The fact that he hasn't been heard from in almost a year (I think) makes me fear the worst.

  • Thanks Yeti.

FTR, he was not born in 1953. 1953 was the year he was baptized (his mother was a convert), and he said he graduated in 1963 and was 18 in 1965. He attended St Lawrence the Martyr school, but I can't find an alumni list. I'm doing all this from my phone, so I don't have links handy-- but all this can be found w/in the first five-ten pages of his posting history.

We are looking for a man who was probably in his mid 70s

Thank you for trying to track him down. He was a regular on here and I miss him. I don't like not knowing what happened to him.

I'm not sure how you would find him, though, since I don't even know what his real name is. Did he ever mention that in his posts? How do you search for a guy whose name you don't even know?
