  • I just got an idea. Matthew, don't you keep a record of the IP addresses that people log in from? Would you be able to look up RC1953's IP address? I'm not asking you to post it publicly, but could you tell us at least what town he lived in? Then we could look at obituaries from that area starting around the time he last posted, and we'd probably be pretty close to finding him.

  • Thanks for looking into this again.  I too thought of him after hearing about Matto.

I tried looking into Colorado obits with a focus on Aguilar and don't even know where to start. There's so many and not enough info on RC1953 to go on.

We know he was born in 1947 or possibly 1948, so I tried adding 1947-2021 or 1948-2021 to the searches, but I still did not get hits that matched.

He mentioned having a brother and sister, but I do not think a wife or children, so I eliminated any mentioning these.  Anything about lifelong resident of Colorado could be eliminated because he lived in Texas when he first starting posting here.

I looked through a lot of obituaries and could not find any that matched what could be deduced from his posts.

  • As I was afraid of ... He might not be dead; he might have had a stroke and become incapacitated, in which case he wouldn't show up in an obituary. But the town of Aguilar has a population of about 500 people, so it will be a lot easier to find him there than anywhere else.

If he attended Mass, it would be easy enough to ask at his parish/chapel.  But he did not have a car and so could not reach the closest traditional Mass.  So that line of inquiry is closed.

It might not be something as dire as a stroke.  He might have lost his computer.

  • Wasn't his sister ill? That's what I remember reading as one of his last posts. He may have taken time off to take care of her.

Yes he posted on July 1:
"My own sister who had the 2 vaccines was in the hospital for 6 days and still very ill in bed is testimony of the truth
of what is really going on."

    Introduce yourself!

I identify myself as a Traditional Roman Catholic since I was
Baptized at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Redondo Beach,Ca in 1953 by Rev. Msgr. Daniel Collins. I came from a protestant family that have not set foot in a Catholic Church since the reformation.  My Mother decided to become a Catholic through the Radio, and the Television preachings of Bishop Fulton Sheen., and the examples of her Catholic friends.  My Brother, and my Sister were baptized at the same time.
In 1955 we moved to new Parish just built. St Lawrence Martyr in Redondo Beach, Ca.  While the church was under construction, Mass was celebrated in a Knights of Columbus
    Hall in Hollywood Riviera.
At St Lawrence, where I had my first confession, first
communion, and confirmation. I was also an altar boy, that
had no trouble with the Latin, and the Ceremonies.
I was the class of 1963, a class of baby boomers born in
the aftermath of world war 2. A average of 60 pupils per
class room. In the 6th grade, the boys, and girls attended
separate classes. All were teaching Nuns, and the tuition was
    $5.00 a month.
On Sunday, there would be at lease five masses, and the
church was full of 200 people, with cry rooms with those
that have babies. The lines for Confession were always very long.  In 1965, A new church was built that holds 400 people. But, at that time, the changes in the liturgy were being introduced, and Mass attendance begin to decline.
I always remained a Traditional Roman Catholic, and will
    never surrender to the changes.

No that is the year he was baptized.

He wrote a post about the new Mass that started: "I was approaching  my 17th Birthday on the First Sunday of Advent 1964 on November 29, 1964.
This is when the first changes took place such as the abolishing the prayers at the foot of the altar, and abolishing the last Gospel."

If his birthday is in December he was born in 1947. If it is in the early months of the year, he was born in 1948.

Thanks, Miseremini. Born again in '53. Depending on whether his siblings were older or younger, Jayne could be right, I might be right, or we could both be wrong. So there should be a Baptismal certificate. My Mum kept hers  on display in a frame till her death in her nineties.
