I have always loved this part of Holy Scripture as it provides women with a holy role model, unlike the secular world in which we live.
16 She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.
24 She made fine linen, and sold it, and delivered a girdle to the Chanaanite. 25 Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day.
[24] "The Chanaanite": The merchant, for Chanaanite, in Hebrew, signifies a merchant.
For posting this lovely portion of Holy Scripture, I’ve been lectured that:
You are not authorized by the Church to comment on Sacred Scripture.
You are a snake.
You mean YOUR insinuations about what they mean.
You're a protestant.
The lack of Christian Charity is sadly lacking on CI. For the record, I am a Traditional Catholic wife, mother and grandmother who is loved and treated with dignity by my dear husband of almost 60 years, our children, their spouses and our grandchildren, their extended families and our longtime friends.
It used to be that CI, in some small way, compensated for the great distances many of us have to travel to get to Mass by being a substitute after-Mass coffee and donuts discussion. Sadly those days are gone and CI has deteriorated into acrimonious anonymous and often hateful click-bait threads.
I made no insinuations about these beautiful passages of Holy Scripture. Any inferred “insinuations” are simply projections from a poster with misplaced aggression.
I simply noted that instead of addressing the words of Holy Scripture, a string of ad hominem attacks were made against me (sorry, my dying laptop will not do italics). Sad.
