  • Michael Matt at the Remnant has a book on this called "Gods of the Wasteland" good book. Not so funny thing about this subject is that I have several nieces and nephews involved in this crap. A few days ago, my nephew (17) who looks like shapeless, dark cousin It was in his room with a new c.d. from Hank Williams the III. My sister said he ran out of his room frightened to death because of something this nut said in his songs. Now, let me tell you this boy is an Ozzie Ozbourn, Led Zepplin and Eminem and those really dark goth groups fan. This boy was crying like a baby and told his mom he was sorry for all he has put her through grabbed all of his posters, games, c.d.s and crap and made her place it in the garbage outside of the house. Then she had to sit up with him the whole night praying because he was too afraid to fall asleep. I pray that this stays like this with him. Don't know exactly what song it was from this Hank 3 but his website is very satanic.

  • Ooh, anything about Audioslave?  Most of the music is about the singer's personal life and doesn't resemble satanism.

Eminem?  I wouldn't be half surprised.  He's gotten alot less worse as time's passed.

I hope that guy gets jabbed in the head with so much responsibility to the point where he realizes what harm he's done.

At least he remarried his wife.

  • The problem is the music itself, as I said in the other thread.  The lyrics can, and often do, compound the problem - but it is there with 'happy lyrics', too (or with no lyrics).  Music, as all of creation, MUST conform to a certain order.  When it fails to do so, it is disordered and useless (at best) or harmful (very harmful in some cases) at worst.

  • When Alan Freed coined the term "rock and roll" in 1956, he was referring directly to young Americans listening to the popular music of the day whilst fornicating in their automobiles.  The term described the motion of said automobiles.

And who, pray tell, is the arbiter of what conforms to a certain order?  There was a time when one wasn't allowed to use diminished chords when composing music.  These chords were reffered to as diablo in musici, literally meaning, "devil in the music".  Well, if you're familiar with classical music, you will know that diminished chords are a mainstay of the composer.  Is classical music Satanic, seeing as it contains devilish elements?

  • Certainly the disordered arrangement, followed by the rapid beat, even the boom boom beat. Listen to the hard driving sound of the Stones, then add the music. You do not have your thoughts on anything that would please God. It was not that long ago that I can not remember being young and the suggestive ways we would dance to certain rhythms. Come on in most clubs you can barely hear the words. Gladius is right as always.
