  • Good morning,

As some of you already know I am very new to tradition.

Its my understanding that there are at least three K-12 schools that are affiliated with the Resistance SSPX:

    • St. Anthony's Academy in Fairfax, VA (which looks like a great school)
    • One somewhere near the New York-Connecticut border.
    • One in Texas.

If anyone is familiar with the New York/Connecticut school and/or Texas school, I am interested in learning more about them. I would consider relocating for the sake of my children.

  • According to the St. Anthony Academy website it is Classical Latin School Association (CLSA) Accredited. www.stanthonyacademy.org/

I don't have any information about the other schools. But I would be interested in learning more about them.

St. Anthony's looks like a great school, and its not far from St. Athanasius Church, but let's face it, Northern Virginia is one of the most expensive places to live in the entire country. So I am hoping that someone here can share more info about the school in Texas and/or New York/Connecticut.

I am really just in the information gathering phase since my wife is a long way from coming along to tradition. I am trying to lead by example, prayer, and with God's grace, a meeting with one of the priests or bishops to allow her to talk with one of them about questions she might have. (It should be said, that God has answered that prayer in a miraculous way and a meeting is in the works for August).

I could email one of the priests or bishops to ask them about these schools, but I know how incredibly busy they are.

I am blessed to be surrounded by some incredible people in tradition that are supporting me and guiding me and my little family. It is truly by God's Divine Providence that I have been led from the clutches of the Novus Ordo. Pray for my family dear brothers and sisters. Prayer for my wife that she gains the eyes to see. Know that we are praying for all of you!

    Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison.

This is not necessarily an asset.

No, but it CAN be!  It depends upon by whom it is accredited!

  • The school in Texas is small. The set-up there would best be described as a few instructors teaching a handful of families. There are 3 classrooms, a room for meals, and a kitchen/office room. From what I saw around the building, it looks like they follow Seton curriculum for most of their coursework. This could be a great option or a bad one, depending on what you're looking for in a school. They have a fenced playground and I'd *estimate* there is a school-day Mass available for the children to attend once per week.

If a family moves to another city, an accredited school will be helpful when they want to place their children in school.

Accredited by whom?  The godless State?  Why would getting a thumbs-up from heathens be helpful?

Parents should review the curriculum, talk to the teachers and then decide for themselves if the school is good enough for their children.
State accreditation is no more important than being accredited by pygmy cannibals.

There are other kinds of accreditation than by the state.  The Classical Latin School Association is one accreditation agency that is good for a school to have.  This becomes an advantage mainly when one wishes to switch to a school in another nation or to enter high school or beyond.

  • If I am correct, AZ, our children just took a GED and went on.  They had no problem getting more education or jobs.  In fact, the job force grabbed my kids and they are doing very well.  Even Dr. David Allen White, former of the Naval Academy was 100% for home schoolers.  He said they could read! and could be taught while others had to take classes for reading before they could go take on classes at the Academy.

DOn't forget, Catechism!  That is number 1 when it comes to home schooling.  It is on going!!  Be sure that is #1!
