I tried the "12 hour fast" hack to reset one's circadian rhythm -- but it didn't work out so well.
http://parentingsquad.com/easy-way-to-reset-your-sleep-cycle-stop-eatingIncluding my sleep the "night" before, the fast was well over 14 hours -- more like 21 hours. I had "breakfast" at 6:00 AM, which was according to the formula.
I did get tired a bit sooner tonight, but only slept about an hour and then I was up -- until now (and counting). It's 6:30 AM. So far, I've logged one hour of sleep. Just like before my experiment, I'll be going to bed for the night at 9:00 AM or later -- insane!
The problem is, on the day of the "experiment" I had to sleep at 7:30 AM after my big breakfast, since that was my normal time to sleep. I had been 14 hours without sleep. So I took a 5 hour nap basically -- but I felt good and energetic all day. I expected to get tired at 10:00 pm or thereabouts and sleep through the night. It didn't work.
Well, I don't know really. I might have taken my 1 hour "nap" sooner if I hadn't had Fr. Hewko and others over at my house this evening. So I might have messed up there.
How does a person sleep on an empty stomach? I couldn't do it if a million dollars were attached. Maybe I'll have to try it again with different timing. It sounds all scientific and believable; but it didn't work for me.
Furthermore, although this story (and many other websites posting the same source) had plenty of comments, I couldn't find any comments from someone it worked for. Maybe it's too hard for people to fast these days?
