Reducing Mortal Sin

    • I know one has to go to confession, but and I know I read this. Supposedly, if I'm wrong just tell me. You can reduce not eliminate mortal sin ? Just as long as it's a short list. I know mortal sin is mortal sin, even if one or two. Although we do know that God has allowed those into heaven with one or two mortal sins, that or Mary interceded, but that is his judgement. It's not gonna be a majority of people.

    What ever gave you the idea anyone could get into Heaven with mortal sins?  You can't even get in with a venial sin.  What do you think Purgatory is for?

    You cannot enter heaven if you die outside the state of grace. 1 mortal sin = hell

    The devil presents sin to us. He influences us to not be ashamed of committing a sin, but after committing he influences us to be ashamed of confessing it.  Satanic inversion.

    I think we need some clarification.

    If you die in mortal sin, you go to hell. If you commit a mortal sin and confess it, you are forgiven the sin.  

    We know of some saints who had a mortally sinful life, but they confessed and went to Heaven.

    If you have a mortal sin, you must confess it to a priest.

    Please help us understand what exactly is your post about.  

    Are you talking about the marks on you soul that are left after sins have been confessed?

    Please someone jump in and correct me if I am wrong, but if you have Perfect Contrition for those mortal sins, then you can be wiped clean and go to Heaven?

    There are some of these cases described in the Cure D'Ars book by Fr. Trochu.

    You must stop mortally sinning immediately and radically avoid occasions of sin.

    Yikes. This is completely false. You need to study the Catholic religion. I recommend the book "My Catholic Faith".
