If you're planning to watch the Super Bowl, please do me a big favor and read this short article right away about Lady Gaga's half-time show:
Three Reasons NOT to Watch Lady Gaga's Half Time Show
Lady Gaga is known for shocking and immoral behavior, including perverse performances, anti-Christian themes, and open support for LGBT themes.
Also, if you know others who are planning to watch the Super Bowl, I suggest you forward them this article and alert them about Lady Gaga's half-time performance.
God-fearing persons must not only talk the talk. You and I must also walk the walk.
This means living good, clean, moral lives in private as well as in public.
Otherwise, as Paul Bourget said:
"One must live the way one thinks or end up thinking the way one has lived."
Only by living the way we think, can we return to the Christian roots of society and make our country great in God's eyes.
Until next time, I remain,
Sincerely,

Three Reasons Not to Watch Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl Show
By John Horvat II
52
The Super Bowl is the most-watched television show in the country. As the premier sports event viewed by tens of millions of Americans, it should reflect the nation and its values.
That is not what is happening this year. In fact, for some years now, the organizers of the event have featured performers who send a message representing the most radical anti-family lifestyles and immoral fashions. This year’s choice is especially unfortunate: Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga will be featured as the principal performer during the 12-minute half-time show this Sunday. The pop star is an outspoken advocate of same-sex “marriage” and the LGBT agenda. Her music and dancers typically represent all that is dark, immoral and bizarre on the pop scene. Moreover, she is expected to politicize her show by using it to criticize the new president. The fact that she will be given this most coveted platform for free to deliver her message is a good reason not to watch the half-time show.
There is another reason to turn off the dial. The nation is polarized and featuring her on this show only creates useless divisions that weaken the nation. It makes no sense to put someone on the stage who ridicules the beliefs, morals and political choices of a sizeable part of the population. America faces major challenges in the days ahead. The Super Bowl should be a clash of teams not moralities. This most important unifying event should serve to unite the nation not divide it.
Finally, there are so many who desire America’s return to order. However, they need to make the connection between morality and entertainment. One of the major reasons America is in such bad shape is because the culture is in the hands of those who destroy morals and promote radical anti-family lifestyles—all in the name of entertainment.
The purpose of entertainment is to provide wholesome repose amid the daily trials and hardships of life. Entertainment should not be hijacked to promote a radical agenda that works against those values and institutions that made America great. It’s not just a show. People need to be consistent in aligning their morals with their entertainment choices.
It is time to stop turning this sporting event into a political statement. After the second quarter, people should exercise their right to turn off Lady Gaga’s half-time show. It has no place in the Super Bowl. It sends the wrong message to the nation.

I am proud to say that I never in my life watched a Super Bowl. Tomorrow,
will be a day of prayer for me.
I have express no interest in sports since college.

This is a great article. Thank you! "The “Super Bowl” worships at the altar of national excess of materialism and relativism and hedonism and libertarianism and commercialism and profiteering and sloth."
No amount of outrage from one year to the next seems to matter. Catholics thus serve as enablers of the тαℓмυdic naturalists who control Hollywood and corporate America and Madison Avenue advertising firms to “push the envelope” with each succeeding year. Catholics have grown used to–and are no longer repelled by–the horrific “half-time” programs, which feature “rock music” and displays, whether planned or “unplanned” of gross indecency, and by crowd shots of immodestly dressed “cheerleaders” and spectators).

Though the majority, I am sure, here on Cathinfo has nothing to do with the Super Bowels, I am under the impression that a number of Trads probably still observe it. With how much folks love their sports, it seems reasonable to presume this, no?
Does anyone here share this opinion?

I would like to thank these contributors to CI in this thread for giving a few words that you just won't find in most places on the Internet or in public generally speaking, regarding that despicable "Ga-ga" woman and immorality in entertainment in general.
She continues to scandalize children whenever she gets the chance, and Our Lord said that people like her would be BETTER OFF with a millstone tied about their neck and cast into the sea. Since that isn't likely to happen to her, one may well shudder at the thought of what will LIKELY happen to her, eventually.
I went to the grocery store yesterday and pushing a shopping cart around I was passing by other shoppers who were openly speaking about their Super Bowl expectations without any suspicion that there may be someone nearby within earshot who does not appreciate what they have to say. So many people today walk around talking on their cell phones saying things that nobody probably wants to hear.
Anyway, regarding the Big Game, I might watch some of it and I might not, but I doubt I'll have any interest in the halftime show. While I certainly don't worship sports like is commonplace today as it was in ancient Rome, seeing a well-played game now and then is not too hazardous to one's faith, I hope.
In fact, in my experience whenever there has been a halftime show I wanted to see (marching bands on the field is nice, especially when they play the great John Philip Sousa's marches which is almost never, any more) I am disappointed because the channel goes right to high-priced commercials instead of showing the bands do their thing.
This was my principal complaint about Fox News at their coverage of the Presidential Inauguration, because when the Marine Corps Marching Band (arguably untouchable in their precision and discipline) went by, they had the sound OFF, while silly blathering of commentators went on and on, which I had no interest in hearing. The new President Trump stood behind glass with a continuous posture of SALUTE, which was nice to see (when is the last time you saw the President salute the Marine Corps Band???) and that kind of made up for not hearing what the Band was playing, strange to say.

The “Super Bowl” worships at the altar of national excess of materialism and relativism and hedonism and libertarianism and commercialism and profiteering and sloth. The situation is so bad that a restaurant in Stamford, Connecticut, Mitchell’s Fish Market, at which we ate after Holy Mass on Quinquagesima Sunday, February 3, 2008, had a sign on its door to explain that it would be closing for the day at 3:00 p.m. to permit its workers to go home and to watch the “Super Bowl.” What total lunacy, as I explained in rather modulated tones of outright disbelief to the workers who could not believe that a flesh-and-blood American would not consider the “big game” important.
“I bet you don’t close down for Good Friday, do you, the most solemn day of the year, now do you?” I asked them. Oh, no, everything is wide open on the day upon which our very salvation was wrought for us on the wood of the Most Holy Cross as the Divine Redeemer, Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, shed every single drop of His Most Precious Blood. Baseball teams play games on Good Friday, yes, even in Spring Training and when it falls in the regular season, something that happens this year, Friday, April 14, 2017. No, there’s no break for the bread and circuses on Sundays and Good Fridays, something that means next to nothing to far, far too many Catholic fathers and grandfathers and uncles and brothers.
This reminds me, a local "Charter High School" has been starting its school year in the middle of August every year, which many times has put the first or second day of school on August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption, and to top it off, when a traditional Catholic student attempts to be excused to go to Mass they are told by the school staff that the local Catholic bishop has assured them there is no obligation to observe any Holy Day because it has been commuted to the next Sunday.
So there (Uuuugh).
But take a wild guess what happens on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur.
Why, EVERYONE gets the day off, of course.

She was actually raised Catholic, Novus Ordo of course.
Had Vatican II never happened, she probably wouldn't have turned out the way she did.

The article touches upon this particular point as well:
What is particularly sad, of course, is to see traditionally-minded Catholics across the ecclesiastical divide “get through” with their obligation as early as possible on Sundays so that they could have the rest of the day “free” to sit in front of television screens and endure blathering, mindless idiots demonstrating their utter ignorance of future events while wallowing in video clip after video clip to dissect past games and plays and game plans that no rational, sane human being has any need to waste his time considering, no less any part of nine full hours.
Moreover, many of these traditionally-minded Catholics think nothing of the immodesty and indecency of speech and attire shown in the pre-game and game telecasts, thinking nothing of how an aggressive promoter of blasphemy and lewdness and obscenity, the FOX television network, which is, after all, owned by a thirty-third Mason (and a “papally”-knighted one at that, thanks be to Roger “Cardinal” Mahony and Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II) named Rupert Murdoch, promotes its insidious throughout the course of the day of the “big game,” caring little for how the virtues of Modesty and Chastity are offended by the proliferation of “rock music” and commercials that specialize in the salacious.
There are other Catholics who will fulfil the "Sunday Obligation" by attending Saturday Mass, just so they can watch the Super Bowl and engage in gluttony and excess. This thanks to the indult granted universally by Paul VI.

The article describes her as a "creature (it is very good the author did not choose the word "woman" which she is not and would have actually been offensive) who goes by the name of “Lady Gaga,” who, from what I can discern, is about as disgusting a human being as can be found on the face of this earth at this time".
Yes, I agree. That description sounds about right.

I live 3 blocks from a parish advertising "The Super Bowl Mass". Well...
-
I watched it. It was an incredibly exciting game, one for the history books.
I like that the Patriots won, since Tom Brady endorsed Trump.
Brady also prayed immediately after winning.
Also, God seemed to have put some sort of divine restraint on Lady Gaga because she gave a normal show. Weird.

I am afraid at the Parish near me they seen to take Sunday off and instead
were home or at the town bar in the Super Bowl Festivities. There was
no Mass. No Priest.
-
Brady also prayed immediately after winning.
You think God approves of modern sports, especially since they play the finals on Sundays, which is supposed to be the day dedicated to Himself?
Seems to me that sports have overtaken the true Mass and now people give sports more importance than God, what with "praying" for having won and all.
Also, God seemed to have put some sort of divine restraint on Lady Gaga because she gave a normal show. Weird.
Normal? It was still obscene and abominable on all levels.
-
A news broadcast showed a breakdown before the game saying Republicans favor the Patriots and Democrats favor the Falcons. They said Donald Trump was rooting for the Patriots. What football has to do with politics is anyone's guess. However............
The Falcons were favored to win by wagers, so a local radio show suggested that even though the Patriots got the official victory, kind of like the electoral college majority for President, the protesters can start whining that the Falcons won the "popular vote." :reporter:
So the Democrats lose again.

I did not watch it. I'm reposting someone's else description of Gaga's show. Alarmingly, many people did not see anything wrong with it nor found anything political or offensive. There were even some Catholics praising and thanking her! Personally, her mere presence is too revolting for me to even see. I know that there were also commercials during the Super Bowl advocating the transgender revolution. :barf:
I do not follow Gaga. I did not know her lyrics were so terrible.Sad this is what is people, especially kids, are listening to.
Taken from the fb post of...:
"Let me get this straight:
So Gaga is standing above all. On the highest point, above all creation in that stadium. Can't get any higher. Stars are lighting up behind her and as the stars are illuminating in the sky she sings about “god” and this nation is made for “you and me”...... THEN...
She falls from the highest point, from the stars, to the second high point….. with the first words out of her mouth being,
“Im on the Edge of Glory”.....
Does any of that sound familiar? What scene was just played out? Anyone.....
Here Let me help……
"How are you fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground, you who weaken the nations!
For you have said in your heart,
“I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit also on the mount of the congregation, in the recesses of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.”
Notice…. Nations. stars. Above the congregation (above the stadium of people).... fell from grace (she fell and is on the edge of Glory)……
While we are all hypnotized by the light, glamor, sound we are singing and children are hearing....
“I want your love, you vertical stick”
and lyrics like….
“I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes;
Im on the right track baby I was born this way.
No matter gαy, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life I'm on the right track baby I was born this way”
Complete blasphemy of Gods creation, defaming and devaluing the Holyness of the father And who does that? Lucifer. He twist the words of God ALWAYS and makes himself look good and God bad.
Did the Lord not tell us “For even Lucifer diguises himself as an angel of light” -2 Corinthians 11:14
Lucifer is the god of this world. He creates all the time reminders about his presence and control over you very frequently. Because most don’t know Gods word they do not recognize it.
Lady Gaga is not a Christian. She practices many satanic things and because of that her thoughts and ideas come from the fallen kingdom…not the Lords. We just saw Satans fall in theatric form and the entire world clapped and for him and his blasphemy…. READ THE BOOK AND OPEN YOUR KINGDOM EYES."

We have been boycotting the NFL . We had to watch the Patriots play in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady was singing the National Anthem which was impressive.
When half time came on, most of us turned off the TV and prayed the Rosary.
I'm sure it helped the Patriots win!

How can you boycott the NFL and pray for one of the teams to win at the same time?
Also, why would you ever pray for a NFL team to win to begin with?
