Our Chapel has a special devotion to The Holy Face of Jesus. While reading the biography of Sister Marie of Saint Peter, the nun of the Holy Face, a woman at our chapel came across the devotion "The Quarantine of Saint Louis." The devotion originated in Rome by Pope Gregory XVI and was re-introduced by Ven. Leo Dupont, the Holy Man of Tours, and the work of Sr. Mary of St. Peter and the Carmelite Order once located in Tours, France. Their object was the glorification of the Holy Name of God and reparation for blasphemy. The leaflets distributed to the faithful had on them a little cross surrounded by a large crown of thorns, with this motto : "Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered." Then, written on separate lines, followed, Union of prayers from the 16th July, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, to the 25th August, the feast of Saint Louis of France, inclusive, for the needs of the Church and of the State. Heaven-revealed Prayers to Remedy the ills of our Times
THE "GOLDEN ARROW" PRAYER
To atone for the sins of blasphemy against God's name. Sins of blasphemy are like 'poisoned arrows' continually wounding God's Heart, but this "Golden Arrow" has the power to wound him 'delightfully.'
"May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable, most incomprehensible and unutterable Name of God
be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified in Heaven, on earth, and in the Hells,
by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of our Lord Jesus Christ
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, Amen."
Third of the eight promises for those who honor the Holy Face:
By offering My Face to my Eternal Father, nothing will be refused, and the conversion of many sinners will be obtained.

Prayer
Eternal Father, turn away Thy angry gaze from our guilty people
whose face has become unsightly in Thy eyes.
Look instead upon the Face of Thy beloved Son,
in Whom Thou are well pleased.
We now offer Thee this Holy Face, covered with shame and disfigured by bloody bruises,
in reparation for the crimes of our age, in order to appease Thy anger, justly provoked against us.
Because Thy Divine Son, our Redeemer, has taken upon His Head all the sins of His members,
that they might be spared, we now beg Thee, Eternal Father, to grant us mercy. Amen.
